El vino nuevo, y ¡bueno!
El párrafo del evangelio de San Juan que nos presenta las bodas de Caná está lleno y atravesado de sentidos, bíblicos, teológicos y litúrgicos. El hecho más sintomático del mismo es que Jesús, como diría Pagola, en su primer signo indudable y entrañable, al mismo tiempo que poderoso y enérgico, no se encuentra en un entorno, ni en un espacio, religioso, sino festivo, familiar, celebrativo y socialmente agradable y gozoso. Todo ello nos ayuda mucho a entrar en un ambiente pascual, que es, también, otro de los aspectos esenciales del relato.
Sorprende la manera tan directa, sencilla y diáfana en que el evangelio presenta a los personajes. “María estaba invitada a la boda”, y “Jesús y sus discípulos también lo estaban”. Yo siempre he pensado que a la madre le inquietó, e impacientó, que su hijo, tan poco convencional, se presentara al festín, acompañado por sus amiguetes, todos ellos, también Jesús, con fama de “comedores y bebedores”. Así que debía estar volada desde el inicio, y con la atención materna muy enchufada al comportamiento del grupo de posibles infractores de la moderación y la sobriedad en el discurrir del banquete. Por eso es la primera que se da cuenta del drama que se les viene encima a los novios, ante lel panorama de que termine el vino, mucho antes de lo prudente en ese tipo de celebración.
