Vida religiosa, ¿camino de santidad?
El tema que se me pide que desarrolle en los diferentes artículos es el de la vocación, y no el de la vida religiosa propiamente. Por eso, habrá que cuidar este marco para no hablar de la vida religiosa y la santidad (en este caso) dejando al margen el aspecto vocacional. Una de las cosas que decía en el artículo anterior era que teníamos que cuidar nuestra propia vocación, y es eso lo que en este artículo quiero desarrollar. Creo que nuestra propia vida debe interpelar a la gente, de tal forma que se cuestione su vida como cristiano. De manera que nuestra vida, en otras palabras, han de reflejar a Cristo para así animar a la gente a seguirle, mostrarles donde está la Verdad, la felicidad o en palabras de S. Juan el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida.
Ya sabemos, y es algo que nos deja claro el Concilio Vaticano II, que todos estamos llamados a la santidad, y que ésta se alcanza en los distintos estados de vida (no meramente el de la vocación religiosa y sacerdotal), en función de la vida a la que el Señor llame. La cuestión que considero importante de cara al despertar de las vocaciones es la pregunta que el religioso y el sacerdote debe siempre hacerse a nivel individual y grupal. La pregunta sobre su vida, nuestra vida: ¿Éstas hablan de servicio y entrega? ¿Es nuestra vida una vida casta, pobre y obediente? ¿Mantengo la frescura de la vocación como en los primeros días, pero creciendo en madurez? ¿Es mi vida una auténtica alternativa al de los valores y criterios del mundo que no son propios de Dios y de la Iglesia? En definitiva, ¿mi vocación me hace estar más unido a Dios y a mis hermanos, me hace amar más y mejor o al modo de Cristo? ¿Me está llevando a la santidad a la que estoy llamado como creyente o por el contrario estoy dado pasos de ciego o retrocediendo en el fundamento último de mi vida?
Cristo y su anuncio siguen teniendo vigencia en nuestros días, así como la vida religiosa y sacerdotal es fundamental en nuestro mundo, nuestra sociedad y nuestra Iglesia. Pero considero para ello, que la Iglesia necesita de santos cuyas vidas hablen de Cristo. Y lo hagan, como religioso que somos, a nivel personal y comunitario, como lo han hecho la vida de los mártires y los santos de nuestra historia que han sido fuentes de vocaciones, porque el corazón de la persona no deja de arder ante vidas íntegras, coherentes y entregadas a Dios y a los más pobres, ante comunidades que hacen que en los barrios, en las zonas donde estemos se respire el Evangelio, por la radicalidad por las que el anuncio de Cristo se hace vida allá donde estemos. Quizás no tanto la palabra sino el testimonio, sea lo que hoy se necesite para que se de el milagro de las vocaciones; o dicho de otra forma, en el milagro de la santidad se da el milagro de las vocaciones.

Aunque se habla siempre del Padre Damian ya Beato y pronto Santo, una persona proxima a todos nosotros, idealista, comprometida con sus ideas. Que con sus actos nos trasmitió un gran ejemplo.

Por lo del Beato Damian, que para mi fue un “hipi” de aquella epoca en el buen sentido de la palabra, lo tengo muchos dias presente por su idialismo y entereza en su camino trazado.
Me encantaria estar para el proximo octubre en Roma para su Canonización. ¿Organizareís algun viaje en grupo? Por si sale un poco mas barato. Por eso la crisis.
