El arte de hablar (una sencilla digresión)
Hablar es un arte con el que no se nace. El hablar “se hace”. Uno apren
de a hablar; y aprende lentamente. Es un aprendizaje arduo y lento. Y una vez que uno ha aprendido a hablar mecánicamente, puede hablar bien, hablar mal, hablar con elegancia, hablar toscamente, hablar con precisión, hablar con rodeos, etc… (todo eso son formas de hablar).
La palabra es, generalmente, el modo más sencillo y mejor de expresarse, de comunicarse; de “expresar” los sentimientos, los conocimientos; de “comunicarse”, es decir, de poner en común, de relacionarse, de conocer y darse a conocer…
Sólo las personas tienen el don de la palabra. No hay ningún otro ser en la tierra que pueda hablar, aunque los animales también tengan su modo de comunicarse y de expresar sus sentimientos; pero no por medio de palabras.
Hay muchas expresiones que indican la manera como se habla, para qué se habla, si se dice algo o sólo son palabras, etc… Veamos algunas de esas expresiones:
- Hablar por hablar, (sin tener nada que decir).
- Hablar a tontas y a locas (sin reflexionar lo que se dice).
- Hablar sin ton ni son (hablar a la ligera; sin venir a cuento).
- Hablar sin decir nada (usar muchas palabras sin contenido que valga la pena).
- Hablar consigo mismo (reflexionar sobre algo que atañe a sí mismo).
- Hablar solo (pensar en alto y expresarlo sin interlocutor).
- Hablar tonterías (no decir nada serio o que valga la pena).
- Hablar más que una cotorra; como un papagallo (ser tan locuaz que acaba aburriendo).
- Hablar con una lengua viperina (hablar corrientemente mal de los demás).
- Hablar con palabras que se lleva el viento (Hablar con ligereza y sin fundamento).
- Habló Roma, se acabó la discusión (hace referencia a la infalibilidad del Papa).
- Habló Blas, punto redondo (Se dice cuando alguien habla sin autoridad).
- En el mucho hablar, no faltará pecado (Libro de los Proverbios).
Sin duda alguna que todavía quedan otras expresiones, pero basta una muestra.
Por el contrario se puede:
- Hablar con sentido común (hablar con ponderación y acierto).
- Hablar con conocimiento de causa (hablar desde una buena información).
- Hablar con el silencio (no necesitar palabras para comunicarse).
- Palabras que llegan hondo (que aciertan e interpelan o comprometen, dichas con convicción y sentimiento).
No cabe duda de que “saber hablar” bien, es un verdadero arte, que se aprende, y que no todos llegan a poseer. Y hay una expresión popular para definir a aquel que lo ha conseguido; se le llama “piquito de oro”.
