Nosotros, los alejados
No hay reunión de pastoral en la que no salga el problema de “los alejados”. Tema manido, no resuelto, pero siempre preocupante. A veces, la discusión se centra en la pregunta: ¿quiénes son en realidad los alejados? En primer lugar, aquellos que normalmente no acuden a la Iglesia para nada, ni para dar ni para recibir. Son alejados, también, los que vienen a la parroquia en algunas circunstancias (con motivo de un bautizo, unas primeras comuniones, una boda y nada más. Los “no practicantes”, en general.
Pero llamarles a ellos “alejados” es sólo una parte de la verdad. Tan lejos están ellos de la parroquia (de la Iglesia) como la parroquia (la Iglesia) de ellos. Es la misma distancia, aunque en distinta dirección. Por eso alguna vez deberíamos hablar de “nosotros, los alejados”.
Esta realidad de nuestro alejamiento es más culpable por estas razones:
1ª.-Con nuestra conducta, nuestros imperativos, nuestras liturgias incomprensibles, nuestro lenguaje impopular, nuestros formalismos… hemos podido ser la causa de su distanciamiento. Y este comportamiento no ha sido siempre de tipo personal, sino también, y sobre todo, de tipo institucional. Una “sociedad perfecta” en vez de una “perfecta comunidad”.
2ª.- Por no haber sido lo suficientemente comprometidos y decididos para salir en su búsqueda, a ejemplo del Buen Pastor que busca la oveja extraviada. Unas veces por comodidad o pereza pastoral, otras veces por no saber cómo, otras veces por miedo a no acertar, otras veces…
¿Por qué en vez de seguir hablando de cómo acercar a los alejados, no empezamos a hablar de cómo dejar de sentirnos nosotros alejados, poniendo en marcha un éxodo hacia la periferia, no tanto geográfica cuanto existencial?
¿Por qué no empezar a descubrir cómo podemos ir, en vez de estudiar cómo hacerlos venir?
¿No será más oportuno y eficaz, que la Iglesia vaya a ellos, más que el que ellos vengan a la Iglesia?
Se trata, una vez más de poner a trabajar la imaginación y el corazón. ¿Será verdad aquello de que “el amor todo lo puede”?
Muy en consonancia contigo, pero creo que hay que tener en cuenta cuáles son los elementos de la Iglesia que alejan a la gente.
No sé si en tiempos de Jesús, él lo tuvo todavía más difícil con los defensores de la Ley y el Templo. Jesús desbarató el judaísmo para que pudiera oírse y circular la Buena Noticia. Desde el siglo III, la Iglesia ha vuelto a reproducir la situación de privilegio, poder, autoridad y condena alejándose del germen inicial. Aquí es urgente una revisión definitiva.
Por otra parte, como todos somos la Iglesia de Cristo, si hay alejados, cada quién tenemos mucho que ver cuando no acertamos a “ser santos e irreprochables”.
