¿Bautismo civil?
Uno está tentado a considerarse todavía joven cuando constata que aún tiene capacidad de admiración y sorpresa. Y eso me ocurrió hace pocos días, al hojear las páginas de un Diario. El titular era éste: ”CAYETANA GUILLÉN BAUTIZA POR LO CIVIL A SU HIJO”; y el texto, el siguiente:”La actriz Cayetana Guillén y su marido, Omar Ayyashi, han bautizado a su hijo, Leo, por lo civil, durante una ceremonia que tuvo lugar ayer en el Ayuntamiento de Madrid y que estuvo oficiada por el concejal socialista Pedro Zerolo”. El texto es fiel al original. (La letra negrilla es mía).
Después de la primera sorpresa pensé en la desfachatez, tanto del matrimonio como del concejal. Ni unos ni otro son personas que quieran pertenecer a la Iglesia, que es la depositaria de los sacramentos, entre ellos el Bautismo.
Si lo que desean es hacer una presentación en sociedad del nacido, me parece muy bien. Pero que busquen otro nombre para dicho acto civil. Qué insistencia tienen los que no son de la Iglesia de apropiarse de los nombres que la iglesia da a sus sacramentos, para hacer algo que nada tiene que ver, aunque sea todo lo laudable que se quiera. Hace ya unos años que se habla de la “primera comunión” civil (?); y ahora salen algunos con el “bautismo civil”(?).
Que hagan todas las ceremonias y fiestas que quieran, pero que no usurpen la nomenclatura que confunde. Si no quieren nada con la Iglesia, prescindan también de aprovecharse del nombre que ella da a ciertas acciones desde hace siglos. Y llámenlo “presentación en sociedad” (a lo que llaman bautismo), o “puesta de largo” (a lo que llaman primera comunión), etc… ¿Llegarán un día a dar la unción de enfermos (antigua Extremaunción), a lo civil?
También podría mirarse desde otro ángulo.
Ellos no pervierten el sacramento, pero no renuncian al acto social.
¿Para cuándo los sacramentos de la Iglesia sin todo el boato que los acompaña y que es la lamentable puesta en escena de un cristianismo vacío?
No es lo grave el nombre de bautismo civil, lo inaceptable, y a la vez aplaudido, son las Primeras Comuniones y Bodas con ese despliegue que es pura exhibición. Y parece que están completamente de acuerdo los párrocos (algunos, no) y los feligreses (algunos, no).
