José María Javierre, sacerdote y periodista
Una periodista de El Correo de Andalucía, compañera de la Facultad, me ha llamado para decirme que acaba de morir el P. Javierre. Para mí, él supuso un importante apoyo para estudiar periodismo y para vivir en clave periodística, un auténtico maestro. Disfruté mucho en los encuentros que mantuve con él antes de comenzar la carrera y, luego, tuve la suerte de que me concediera una extensa entrevista para el trabajo final de una asignatura. Ahora comparto con los amigos del blog esa conversación con el cura Javierre en mayo de 2001 que, años más tarde, todavía guarda frescura y actualidad. Es un pequeño homenaje a un hombre apasionado, culto, de frontera. Gran amigo de sacerdotes de la talla de Martín Descalzo y de otros inolvidables curas-periodistas que han marcado profundamente a las generaciones venideras. Fue un creyente comprometido con la sociedad, con la democracia y fiel a la Iglesia.
