Un ecumenismo distinto, que nace de la solidaridad

erdo que hace muchos años, en uno de los “posters”, con motivo de alguna jornada religiosa, aparecía un gran Crucifijo, resquebrajado y roto; y debajo, una leyenda que decía así :”Cuando el Cristo roto recobre la unidad, el mundo sabrá quién es su verdadero Salvador”. Me impactó tanto que lo he recordado muchas veces. Hoy me viene nuevamente al recuerdo, al escribir estas líneas sobre el tema del Ecumenismo.
La Iglesia, nuestra Iglesia, lleva muchos años hablando de ecumenismo, de acercamiento a “los hermanos separados”. En ese tiempo ha habido épocas de mayor actividad o interés, y otras de más olvido y desinterés. Y es muy posible (a mi entender) que ahí es donde estemos en este momento.
Los esfuerzos, mayores o menores, hechos hasta el momento, se puede decir que han logrado bien poco. Cada uno sigue en su lugar, sin ceder lo más mínimo, creyéndose en posesión de toda la verdad, y la “única verdad”; o sencillamente sin querer dar su brazo a torcer a causa de una larga historia de acusaciones, incomprensiones y descalificaciones.
Y hay que reconocer que lo que nos separa es mucho menos que lo que nos debería unir. Nos separan ciertas teologías, costumbres adquiridas y no revisadas, malos entendidos históricos, parcelas de poder y de influencia, etc..
Y ello por parte de todos, incluida la Iglesia Católica. Y todos quieren imponer su verdad sobre la del otro. Y por ese camino nunca se llegará a la unidad en la diversidad, ni al mutuo entendimiento, ni al amor fraterno (que es más interesante que ponerse de acuerdo en las ideas); es posible que nunca lleguemos a ponernos de acuerdo en algunos puntos doctrinales; pero es urgente poner de acuerdo el corazón (con-cordes), porque las palabras del Señor están ahí golpeando a través del Evangelio :”En esto conocerán que sois mis discípulos, en que os amáis”.
Si no es posible, por ahora, ponerse de acuerdo en la liturgia, en el culto, en la teología…. pongámonos juntos a construir el Reino: el Reino del amor, de la verdad (sólo Cristo es la Verdad), de la solidaridad, de la justicia, de la paz. Tratemos de hacer, entre todos, un mundo más pacífico, más feliz, más habitable, más humano, más según el corazón de Dios…
Pero para ello hay que comenzar por romper todas las estructuras de poder, de opresión, de marginación…
¡Qué sentido tiene una iglesia (unas iglesias) que no ponen todo su esfuerzo, todas sus energías, toda su influencia, todos sus medios, en erradicar la pobreza, la indignidad, la opresión en el mundo!
Dejemos de buscar chivos expiatorios, y de tratar de determinar quién fue el culpable de tal o cual “error”. Que se unan los corazones, para luego unir las fuerzas para luchar a favor de tantos hijos de Dios (hermanos nuestros) que sobreviven de mala manera.
Jesucristo no alabó la conducta del sacerdote ni del levita, por más que tenían razones legales para no contaminarse con la sangre del herido. Y sí alabó al samaritano. La función samaritana es más importante que la rigidez de unas leyes inmisericordes. No pasa nada porque los protestantes o los ortodoxos tengan algunas cosas distintas de los católicos. Pero sí que pasa mucho, si hay personas a las que se les roba o no reconoce la dignidad dada por Dios, si hay personas que se mueren de hambre por una injusta distribución de la riqueza, si hay grupos de cristianos que no se aman por diferencias históricas ( ya trasnochadas ), por diferencias teológicas, o por problemas de autoridad.
Empecemos por poner en práctica otras palabras de Jesús (también olvidadas) : “Buscad primero el Reino de Dios y su justicia, y todo lo demás se os dará por añadidura”
Las inteligencias sólo llegan a ponerse de acuerdo cuando se ponen los corazones. Hay que hacer un ejercicio de humildad, de reconocimiento de los valores del otro, un ejercicio valiente de relativizar las cosas, (sólo Dios es absoluto), y desprenderse de la falsa creencia de que “toda la verdad la tengo yo”.
Así como no es de recibo competir para ver quién tiene más cuota de verdad, sí que vale la pena competir para ver quién gana al otro en amor, entrega, confianza, servicio y ayuda a los hermanos.
Ojalá que las iglesias separadas comenzaran ya a acercar los corazones viendo la ingente tarea que espera para la realización del Reino. Y ojalá sea la Iglesia católica la que dé el primer paso. Hay un mundo enfermo, maltratado, malherido, hambriento de pan y de felicidad, que espera la mano samaritana. Y hay muchos que pasan de largo. La labor de la Iglesia de Cristo (las iglesias de Cristo) es hacerse “samaritana”. Pero sin hacerse la guerra entre ellas. Unidos con un solo corazón. Eso sí que haría que el Cristo roto recobrase la unidad. Y la Iglesia, la de todos, recobraría la credibilidad perdida. Si eso no es el ecumenismo, sí que es, al menos, un camino para llegar a él. Y, tal vez, el único posible, hoy día.

¡Ves como no hace falta un discurso alambicado para decir la verdad!
Es una frase muy lograda porque, fuera de esto, entramos en las marismas de las racionalizaciones. Todo es argumentable, lo incierto, lo inútil, lo interesado, lo que Dios quiere…cualquiera que pueda ser el disfraz de lo falso.
Ahora, una puntualización sobre el competir:
Ni tan si quiera me apunto al “Con flores a porfía…” precisamente por “…que Madre nuestra es.”
Ya sé que has utilizado esta forma de explicar para recalcar, que todo será poco, cuando se trate de servicio, entrega ayuda…
Pero déjame ser puntillosa porque, entre “santos”, he visto mucha competencia y hasta rivalidad; por eso las iglesias, nuestra Iglesia, su Iglesia (1) necesitan o necesita, de corazón, inteligencia y…madurez o humildad, para llegar a ser un diverso uno.
