Divagar: un ejercicio de distracción
Teresa de Ahumada llamaba a la imaginación, “la loca de la casa”. Acertada reflexión de una mujer sabia y santa. Por la imaginación pueden pasar los más grandes contrastes, las más disparatadas ocurrencias, y las más bellas figuraciones. La imaginación es divertida; puede convertir en realidad lo que no existe; y puede hacer de una tragedia, un circo, y viceversa. Hay una frase muy repetida que dice: “la imaginación al poder”. Pero, a veces, el poder tiene tan escasa imaginación, que decepciona o aburre.
Y siguiendo con la Santa de Ávila, y sus dichos, recuerdo aquella feliz frase: “Dios está entre los pucheros”. Una expresión que tiene que aliviar mucho a los que se dedican al arte de cocinar, porque eso de encontrarse a Dios entre los pucheros y cacerolas, tiene que ser divertido y, al mismo tiempo, muy consolador. Me pregunto, qué encanto tendrán para Dios esos “cacharros”, casi siempre abollados, que se requeman en el fogón, y nunca más recobran su primitivo esplendor.
La gran reformadora del Carmelo, cuenta: “de joven me dijeron que era guapa, y me lo creí; ahora, de vieja, me dicen que soy santa, pero no me lo creo”. Parece ser, según sus historiadores, que guapa no era; tal vez no se miraba mucho al espejo para constatarlo; pero sí que fue “santa”; y una de las más grandes. Y de esta guisa, salía ganando ella y nosotros.
Esta monja andariega parece que no se entendió muy bien con los andaluces. Demasiado “castellana” para congeniar con Al-Andalus. Un carácter demasiado recio, para comprender la filosofía acomodaticia de los hombres del Sur.
Y quiero recordar aquello de: “Vivo sin vivir en mí”, y “muero porque no muero” Es verdad que parecen dos jeroglíficos. Pero en ella eran dos verdades como puños.
Divagar es un buen ejercicio que exige poco esfuerzo, y distrae. Es dejarse llevar del impulso, sin tratar de decir gran cosa. Hacer que sean otros los que dicen, y tú simplemente apostillar. Es dejar que esa loca de la casa que es la imaginación, ande suelta, sin cadenas. Dejar que el corcel que está dentro de nosotros pueda correr sin brida ni freno; que el niño que todos somos, camine por senderos floridos, sin cardos, sin espinas, sin la preocupación de quedar bien, de decirlo bonito, de esperar el aplauso ni la lisonja.
Divagar es hermoso, cuando el tiempo es gratuito, cuando las obligaciones de la jornada cesan, cuando el cansancio del día no permite a la mente enfrascarse en teoremas complicados ni en altas filosofías, cuando el atardecer te regala un lucero vespertino, antes de que la luna llena dé paso a las estrellas, y las sombras de la noche se escondan tras los árboles dormidos, plagados de trinos.

A estas horas ya ando menos lúcido (o sea casi a ciegas mi intelecto, si tengo de eso) pero creo recordar “el santo soñar despierto” de San Ignacio…..no llega a divagar, pero que bonito soñar despiertos cosas buenas a los demás!!!
