La figura de Dios-Padre en la catequesis infantil
El tema de Dios como Padre nuestro, es algo nuclear en la catequesis infantil. El Dios creador, infinito, todopoderoso, providencia, etc…es un aspecto que, aún teniéndolo en cuenta, no es tan prioritario, a mi entender, en la educación religiosa del niño.
Dar a conocer a Dios como Padre, es implantar en el interior del niño, en su cabeza y en su corazón, los conceptos de bondad, de perdón, de cariño… de tantas cosas positivas a las que el niño es sensible, y que necesita para crecer con el bagaje necesario de confianza en ese Dios Padre, cercano, protector y amoroso.
Pero es bueno que cuando se le hable de Dios, no se restrinja sólo al papel del padre, sino que entre también la figura de la madre. No identificar a Dios sólo con el padre. Hoy día, con gran acierto, se insiste en afirmar que Dios es Padre y Madre. Y cuando afirmamos esto, no se hace referencia al sexo masculino o femenino, porque Dios no tiene sexo. Nos referimos a aquellas cualidades que más descuellan en el padre y en la madre: el amor por los hijos, la preocupación por su bienestar, su paciencia, su saber perdonar, su saber escuchar, su protección, su ternura…
Al presentar a Dios como Madre, y, sobre todo, como Padre, hay que tener mucho cuidado con las posibles reacciones de algunos niños, que, desgraciadamente, no tengan una experiencia positiva de sus padres; bien por tener un padre autoritario, violento y poco comprensivo, bien por tener una madre poco cariñosa, bien porque la relación en el matrimonio no sea nada ejemplar y sí muy destructiva.
Hay que procurar detectar esa posible mala experiencia, para hacer comprender al niño que las personas tenemos muchos defectos, y no siempre nos comportamos bien. Pero insistir en que en Dios todo es positivo y no tiene ninguno de esos defectos que, a veces, tienen algunos padres. Hay que suscitar confianza.
El comportamiento de los padres respecto a los hijos y entre ellos, es muy importante de cara a la comprensión de Dios Padre-Madre. Su influencia puede ser muy negativa, o muy positiva. Y es algo en lo que los mismos padres no caen en la cuenta.
En cuanto a la oración del “padrenuestro”, hay que tener en cuenta que los niños no deben aprender de memoria la oración, antes de haberla comprendido en cada una de sus parte y peticiones. Una vez que entiendan bien lo que se dice, es el momento de memorizarla para poderla rezar. Si se invierte el proceso, se corre el peligro de acostumbrarse a recitarlo, deprisa y corriendo, sin darle sentido, como le ocurre a tanta gente.
Todo lo dicho favorece o dificulta la tarea de los catequistas. Dificultad que se puede añadir a las ya normales de la evangelización y formación religiosa en la infancia.

Es exactamente lo que intentamos hacer con los niños al descubrirles a Dios Padre, pasito a pasito, enseñándoles que Dios nos conoce a cada uno por nuestro nombre, individualmente, nos quiere, nos perdona, nos escucha….y Jesús nos enseña a hablar y a encontrarnos con Él con ese diálogo de cariño dirigido a “Abba” papá-maternal
Espero que muchos catequistas lean tu reflexión porque es importantísimo saber transmitir todos estos conceptos a la hora de hablar a los niños – y a los que no son tan niños también- sobre Dios padre
