Moniciones, cantos, más de una docena de peticiones 
y de ofrendas, emoción, familia reunida… Los alumnos de 4º de ESO vivían en clima de fiesta la eucaristía de fin de etapa. Calor, que estamos casi en verano. Todo aparentemente normal.
Después de la comunión un par de alumnas hacen su acción de gracias y luego sube una madre al altar. ¿Será que va a entregar algo? ¿Algún símbolo? No, por lo que va leyendo, se trata de una acción de gracias personal. Al principio parecía una acción de gracias más. Pero no, era la lectura de un hermoso texto en el que esta mujer da gracias a Dios por el colegio, por los profesores, por las religiosas, por todo el personal del centro. Su hijo ha hallado un segundo hogar. Él con necesidades educativas especiales, “diferente” a los demás compañeros se ha sentido acogido y querido. Puede que su imagen quede en alguna orla junto con sus compañeros de clase, sin embargo, para él su colegio no pasará nunca a la memoria del olvido. A medida que transcurre la lectura del texto, en la asamblea se va produciendo un gran silencio y, al final, estalla un prolongado aplauso.
¡Qué satisfacción para un colegio que, al final de una etapa, una familia se perciba así de integrada, querida, acogida! Al finalizar la misa hablé con el chaval que estaba feliz y emocionado. Y con la hermana directora que, con alegría, recibía aquel hermoso gesto de los padres de este alumno.
En tantos campos de la vida social y laboral habría que trabajar por la integración, para que no haya niños y jóvenes, adultos y ancianos que se sientan excluidos. Hoy doy gracias a Dios por todos los que hacen posible que los “diferentes” –que no son tan diferentes- se encuentren en familia, integrados, viviendo con alegría un camino nuevo de posibilidades. Ahí cobra pleno significado lo que quería la Fundadora de ese colegio, santa Juana de Lestonnac: “tender la mano a los demás”, como María.
