Una magnífica novela para el verano
Acabo de terminar, leyendo reposadamente, “Los milagros del vino”, de Jesús Sánchez Adalid, la novela más religiosa de este cura escritor, flamante párroco en Alange, muy cerca de Mérida.
A través de Podalirio, un hombre en constante búsqueda de la verdad, Sánchez Adalid nos proporciona las claves del mundo griego en decadencia (no tan distinto al nuestro), con sus creencias y sistema de valores, junto con una nueva cosmovisión que se alza a través del buen anuncio (evangelio).
Podalirio es sacerdote-médico de Asclepio. La entrada en escena de Saoul (Pablo de Tarso) y de Lucius (san Lucas) en Corinto, donde reside el protagonista, nos brindan la oportunidad de imaginar cómo se fue realizando ese primer encuentro entre mundos diferentes. La buena noticia se va extendiendo y comunicándose gracias a los seguidores de Jesús y a la acogida de hombres y mujeres que están abiertos a la Verdad. Es hermosísima la conversión de Nana, la mujer de Podalirio y la inserción en el relato del himno de la caridad de la primera Carta a los Corintios.
La parte que más me ha gustado del libro es la que se desarrolla en Séforis, donde Susana (santa Susana) tiene unas viñas y una casa. Durante cerca de un año, Podalirio permanece, tras un viaje –símbolo del viaje de la vida y de su búsqueda- desde Corinto en tierras de Palestina, averiguando todo lo que pueda sobre un tal Yeshua, del que ya ha tenido noticias a través de Lucius y de Saoul. Será Susana la que le comunique, poco a poco, qué es lo que ha vivido, veinte años antes, con Jesús, cómo fue liberada de sus demonios y su experiencia de la Resurrección.
Sánchez Adalid, con su lenguaje cuidado y su minucioso estudio de la historia, nos introduce en la época de los primeros seguidores de Jesús y nos trae al propio Yeshua en su novela. Es un ejercicio de teología narrativa que supone una aproximación coherente y fiel a los hechos que acontecieron hace 2.000 años. No desvelo nada más, pero sí subrayo la importancia del vino, del encuentro, del banquete, de la amistad, de la vida compartida para saborear los milagros, el misterio y la fuerza del nieto de Ana –como llaman a Jesús en la novela-. Y también el papel de las mujeres que seguían a Jesús.
Un mundo en cambio, ayer y hoy. Valores, búsquedas, cansancio, demonios, gracia, esperanza, alegría, vino. Una novela muy recomendable para el verano. ¿La has leído ya?
