¿Obsesión por las vocaciones?
Desde que empezaron a escasear las vocaciones sacerdotales y
religiosas, se ha notado una creciente preocupación, que lleva camino de convertirse en obsesión para no pocos.
Estoy convencido, cómo no, de que tenemos que rezar y pedirle al Señor que crezca el número y la calidad de los que desean servir desde ese estado. Pero igual, y no más, que lo que tenemos que pedir para que haya buenos matrimonios, buenos padres que sepan inculcar la fe en sus hijos, buenos jóvenes que infiltren nueva savia en la iglesia, buenos obispos que sepan orientar por el camino del evangelio a sus diocesanos, buenos políticos que procuren el bien de los ciudadanos, etc…
Pero siempre debemos concluir la oración con estas palabras:”pero no se haga mi voluntad sino la tuya”.
¿Acaso no querrá el Señor, hacernos recapacitar, aprovechando esta crisis de vocaciones, para que toda la Iglesia, desde sus pastores hasta el último de los creyentes, empecemos a dar un giro distinto a muchas cosas: un estilo más democrático en la gestión y administración eclesial, el sacerdocio de hombre casados, y el de la mujer, el celibato opcional, una pertenencia a la Iglesia más comprometida, una fe más adulta, el paso de una situación de cristiandad, a un cristianismo más evangélico etc…?
Con frecuencia, las crisis dan paso a ciertos cambios beneficiosos, que no se hubieran llevado a cabo sin ella. Se suele decir que “Dios escribe derecho con renglones torcidos”.
La crisis, sea cual sea, debe dar paso a un discernimiento; y ese discernimiento nos debe llevar a descubrir lo que Dios quiere “ahora”, en nuestro tiempo y en nuestras circunstancias. Es necesario tener un espíritu abierto a los signos de los tiempos, a través de los cuales suele hablar Dios. Esta expresión ”signo de los tiempos”, de gran raigambre bíblica, aparece en el Concilio Vaticano II, en la Constitución Gaudium et Spes, aunque había sido ya empleada por el Papa Juan XXIII. No todas las crisis son perniciosas. A veces, cuando se trata de enfermedades graves, llega un momento en que se dice que la enfermedad ha hecho “crisis”, y quiere significarse que la gravedad ha pasado y se inicia la recuperación. También en la pubertad se habla de crisis de crecimiento.
Confiemos en que la crisis de vocaciones religiosas y sacerdotales, traigan a la Iglesia un crecimiento en fidelidad y de reflexión, sin miedo a los cambios o aportaciones que puedan surgir a impulsos del Espíritu. El excesivo miedo a equivocarse, produce un efecto paralizador. Hay que correr algún riesgo, procurando que las equivocaciones sean las menos posibles. El que no se arriesga, nunca se equivoca; pero su postura es toda ella una gran equivocación, la de no confiar en el Espíritu, la de preferir estacionarse para evitar cualquier esfuerzo, la de no crecer; en definitiva, la de no creer en Dios, porque creer es fiarse.

Siempre parece que la Iglesia debería ser dinamizada, conducida o transformada, por sus encargados. Vale, pero la clase de cristiano que soy, es la gran cuestión que dará lugar, aunque no veamos cómo, al paso siguiente del Plan.
Vivimos ciegos, con la escasa visión que permite repasar las Escrituras; sordos también al sufrimiento, pero alcanzados por el inaudible encantamiento de la palabra fraternidad; paralizados por no tener suficiente fe, aunque la injusticia todavía quema adentro; y parece que sin esperanza, sin embargo estamos aprendiendo a ser valientes conforme va fallando lo que nos mantenía rígidos y seguros. Posiblemente la primera vocación por la que hay que rogar, sea la nuestra. “¿Qué quieres que haga contigo? ¡Señor, que vea!” (Marcos 10, 51)
Siempre pones el punto final a mis palabras. Y siempre con acierto, sentido común y valentía. El “Señor, que vea” es una oración preciosa; ¿qué otra cosa debemos pedir? No sólo que mire, porque hay miradas frías, indiferentes, curiosas… Ver es distinto, porque supone conocer, darse cuenta de la realidad. Ver la voluntad de Dios en nosotros, es el comienzo de la conversión. Equivale al “creo, pero aumenta mi fe”. Una mayor fe, aumenta el espectro de lo querido por Dios, y da la fuerza necesaria para irlo poniendo en lugar privilegiado en nuestra vida. Una de las o¡cosas que más temo es”ver la mota en el ojo ajeno, y no darme cuenta de la viga que llevo en el mío”. ¡Señor que vea!
