Ser sal y luz en la vida

salPalabras de Jesús: ”Vosotros sois la sal de la tierra…Vosotros sois la luz del mundo” (Mt 5, 13 ss). Con estas palabras, Jesús define quiénes son sus discípulos. No dice Jesús “deberíais ser”, sino “sois”. Sólo si somos sal de la tierra y luz del mundo, podemos saber si somos de verdad, y no solo de nombre, discípulos suyos.

Ser sal, significa en lenguaje metafórico, llenar la vida de sabor de evangelio y llenarla de contenido en línea la línea del Reino; es saber condimentar todos nuestros actos con la alegría de saberse hijo de de Dios; es desterrar la tristeza, por el hecho de ser menos y poseer menos; es conformarse con el último lugar, sabiendo que ante Dios no hay primeros ni últimos; es saber poner esperanza donde falta, paz en vez de violencia; es, sobre todo, derramar amor a corazón abierto.

Ser luz, es abrir la vida a la verdad, al entusiasmo, a la generosidad, al perdón, a la confianza en el Dios fiel; es iluminar los caminos de la vida y desterrar las tinieblas del corazón del mundo; es curar las cegueras voluntarias, romper cadenas de esclavitud; es estar anclado fuertemente en Dios.

Pero el Señor también dice que “si la sal se vuelve sosa; si la luz se pone debajo del perol, de nada sirven”. Y ese es el riesgo de los discípulos. Ese es el verdadero trauma que se produce cuando no somos lo que Jesús pone como condición para seguirle: sal y luz. Jesús, con las palabras citadas por Mateo, no nos hace una invitación, ni una oferta, ni una meta que alcanzar. Sencillamente, pone unas condiciones para ser sus discípulos. No dice debéis ser, debéis intentar, no; dice “vosotros sois”. Y si no somos (sal-luz), no somos sus discípulo; seremos aprendices de discípulos o futuros discípulos.

En la famosa “Carta a Diogneto”, se dice: “Lo que es el alma en el cuerpo, son los cristianos en el mundo”. El alma es lo que vivifica y anima el cuerpo. Los cristianos ¿vivificamos y animamos suficientemente este mundo? La respuesta más acertada sería decir: unos, sí, y otros, no. Pero no se trata de las individualidades, siempre expuestas a la debilidad y al cansancio. Se trata de los cristianos como comunidad universal (eclesial). Y en ese sentido, dejamos mucho que desear.

Somos unos 1700 millones de cristianos en el mundo, un número impresionante, con una gran fuerza potencial de influencia y testimonio. No podemos negar que la cristiandad ha influido muchísimo a lo largo de la historia, y sigue influyendo en grandes sectores; pero no podemos gloriarnos, ni estar satisfechos, de lo que no hacemos o influimos. Un reducido número de apóstoles y discípulos de Jesús, fueron capaces de cambiar gran parte del gran mundo greco-romano, en condiciones mucho más arduas que hoy.

Cuando los cristianos nos convertimos en “cristiandad”, perdimos gran parte de la fuerza testimonial; la única que arrastra y convence. Aunque el Espíritu Santo no cesa de transformar a personas y pequeños grupos, que son capaces de poner su fuerza en el Dios de Jesucristo, y ser referencia transformadora en sus ambientes. “Recibiréis la fuerza del Espíritu Santo, que vendrá sobre vosotros, y seréis mis testigos en Jerusalén, en toda Judea y Samaria, y hasta los confines de la tierra” (Hch 1, 8).

The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

    The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

    The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
