Esa palabra mágica, llamada solidaridad
Estamos acostumbrados a escuchar y decir que hay inflación de palabras; que hay muchas palabras que suenan a huecas; que las palabras cada vez convencen menos. Y la verdad es que cada vez se inventan nuevas palabras, que la Real Academia de la Lengua va añadiendo al diccionario. Una gran parte de ellas no se usan nunca, o sólo las emplean los muy eruditos o los muy exquisitos del lenguaje…o los muy bordes. Pero hay algunas palabras que tienen una magia especial, si llegan a hacerse realidad. Entre ellas yo destacaría la palabra:”solidaridad”.
Esta palabreja, tan usada hoy día, lleva consigo un sentido muy positivo de relaciones interpersonales, de participación, de apoyo, de compañerismo, de fraternidad, de adhesión, de ayuda… Todo el voluntariado, frecuente en nuestros días, proviene de la solidaridad con los necesitados, sean individuos, o países pobres.
Hoy la palabra “caridad” es descartada en muchos ambientes; pero, sin embargo, no se tiene dificultad en emplear la palabra solidaridad, que si no responde totalmente a lo que es la caridad, está sin embargo muy cercana y forma parte importante de ella.
Ser solidario equivale a sentirse cercano, corresponsable de la situación del otro. La mayoría de las llamadas ONG pueden entrar en esa mágica palabra de solidaridad. Los cristianos preferimos llamar caridad, amor, que comportan necesariamente el ser solidario con los problemas y dificultades del prójimo.
La simple solidaridad proviene de la compasión, de un humanismo bueno, del deseo de ayuda. Y tiene su origen en la bondad del corazón del hombre. La caridad tiene su fundamento en el “amaos unos a otros como yo os he amado”. Es un reflejo del amor de Dios, compasivo, misericordioso. Ese AMOR (“Dios es amor”, como dice san Juan) se solidarizó con la humanidad, tomando su misma naturaleza, y “poniendo su tienda entre nosotros”, como dice el mismo evangelista en el prólogo de su Evangelio.
He dicho que la solidaridad es una palabra “mágica”, porque es capaz de trasformar los corazones; es capaz de hacer brotar los buenos sentimientos de ayuda en las formas más variadas; es capaz de vencer el innato egoísmo, para salir de los propios y exclusivos intereses, y empezar a pensar en los de los demás.
Un mundo donde la solidaridad tuviese un papel preponderante, sería un mundo más feliz, de menos sufrimiento, de menos carencias, de menos desigualdades. No sería todavía un mundo donde imperase el sentido de la justicia, pero iría preparando el camino que conduce a ella.
Por muy perfectas que sean las relaciones humanas, siempre será necesaria la solidaridad, porque siempre habrá quien necesite del otro.
