La parábola de las hojas secas
El eterno retorno de las estaciones nos puede proporcionar motivos y razones para reflexionar. Todos los años se repite el mismo fenómeno, que no por ser tan repetido deja de ser tan admirable: primavera, verano, otoño, invierno. Es, un poco, como las famosas palingenesias, de Platón (la palabreja proviene de dos palabras griegas: palin (que significa “de nuevo”, y génesis, que significa “nacer”. Nacer de nuevo).
Una de las estaciones que a mí me ha hecho pensar más, es el otoño, uno de cuyos fenómenos más conocidos es la caída de la hoja de los árboles. He visto en ese hecho, una especie de parábola. A lo largo de esa estación, y sobre todo ya casi al final, cuando está para despedirse y dar paso a la siguiente estación, los árboles tiran sus hojas secas; o dicho de otra manera, las hojas se secan y se desprenden de las ramas, cayendo al suelo. La naturaleza es sabia, y las cosas no ocurren sin un sentido y una razón.
Caen unas, para que puedan surgir otras. Mueren las viejas, para que puedan irrumpir, llenas de lozanía y verdor, las nuevas. La muerte da paso a una nueva vida. ¿Acaso no es eso mismo lo que nos ocurre a las personas? La muerte da paso a la nueva Vida (en este caso con mayúscula) ¿No es lo mismo que ocurre con las semillas, que mueren en la tierra, para que nazca el nuevo fruto? Jesús, buen observador de la naturaleza, nos dice en el Evangelio:”Si el grano de trigo no cae en tierra y muere, queda infecundo; pero si muere, da mucho fruto” (Juan 12, 24-26).
Si las hojas del árbol permanecieran secas en él, no habría lugar para los nuevos brotes verdes; es como entregar la vida en favor de otra nueva vida.
Esta es una gran parábola de la naturaleza, que nos da importantes enseñanzas. Por una parte: que hay que dar paso a las nuevas generaciones, que vienen empujando y pidiendo su lugar en la marcha del mundo. En segundo lugar nos recuerdan a aquellas personas que han sido o son capaces de entregar su vida por los demás. En tercer lugar nos habla de la brevedad de la vida. Todo es caduco, nada es eterno. Y tal vez podríamos deducir algunas enseñanzas más.
A esto lo llamo yo: “La Parábola de las hojas secas”.
