¿Qué caminos? ¿Qué senderos?
(Domingo 2º de Adviento)
A lo largo del Adviento encontramos tres personajes importantes, que son el profeta Isaías, Juan Bautista y la Virgen María. Hoy es Juan Bautista el que aparece en el evangelio, citando palabras del Isaías: Preparad el camino al Señor, allanad sus senderos. ¿De qué camino se trata, que tenemos que preparar? ¿Cuáles son los senderos que hay que allanar? Tantas veces se ha repetido esto en tantos Advientos vividos ya, que parecería inútil, por obvio, volver a repetirlo. Pero la memoria humana es frágil, y, aunque parezca una contradicción, también olvidadiza. Para que Jesús, su evangelio, su estilo de vida, llegue a nosotros, tenemos que quitar los obstáculos que lo impiden. Eso sería preparar los caminos. Porque los caminos por los que nos llega Dios, son variados, y a veces insospechados. No llega por medio de su Palabra, por la celebración de los sacramentos, por la oración. Pero también por la lucha por la justicia, por compartir con el necesitado, por todo lo que más tarde será objeto del examen que el Señor nos hará , según Lucas, en el juicio final, que será el final de todo juicio: tuve hambre y me disteis de comer, tuve sed.., estuve desnudo…, encarcelado, fui emigrante… Por ahí llega el Señor de manera más clara y sin ambages, y ese camino es el que hay que preparar. De lo contrario, nos podemos perderé por mil vericuetos, apoyándonos en que rezamos mucho, e incluso hacemos muchas penitencias y sacrificios.
Juan dice, también, que hay que allanar los senderos. Hay desvíos en el camino, hay atajos y vericuetos, que también nos pueden y deben llegar al Señor, o facilitar que él llegue. Pero todos esos senderos deben estar sin abrojos, limpios y llanos: en nuestra relación con Dios, en nuestro trato con los demás, en el control de nosotros mismos. Porque “para aceptar a Dios, en la forma que llegue, hay que rebajar nuestra autosuficiencia y orgullo, hay que dignificar nuestra persona obrando justamente, hay que descubrir, en todo ser humano, su ser de hijo de Dios”. Se nos llena la boca diciendo que el adviento es tiempo de espera y esperanza. Pero ¿seguimos esperando a Godó? ¿O esperamos la liberación que Dios nos trae en la persona de Jesucristo? Porque hay mucha gente, pueblos y continentes enteros, que no esperan nada, que todo lo dan por perdido, que no encuentran suficientes manos generosas que arriesguen en su favor. Mucha gente que no esperan nada, porque han perdido la esperanza. Y solo gestos de acercamiento, de solidaridad, de generosidad, de amor, les puede hacer recobrar tan importante pérdida. Y ahí entraría también el Adviento. Ese adviento que no es de cuatro semanas esperando la Navidad, sino el otro que dura siempre, mientras haya alguien que haya perdido la esperanza de ser liberado; otro que no termina en la Navidad, sino en el Nacimiento de un Mundo Nuevo, regido por el amor y la justicia; el mundo nuevo que nace de poner en práctica la Buena Noticia, y desemboca en el Reinado de Dios.
