Miércoles de ceniza
Jesús en el evangelio nos da pistas seguras para empezar a celebrar la nueva Cuaresma de este año 2013. Nos habla de tres maneras de actuar, o tres medios que nos ayuden en este camino hacia la Pascua de Resurrección: la limosna, el ayuno y la oración.
Al hablar del ayuno, no podemos circunscribirnos a la privación de alimentos en ciertos días. El ayuno es más amplio e importante que eso. Se trata de privarse y prescindir de aquello que no está en línea con las orientaciones y exigencias que marca el evangelio, potenciando en nuestra vida aquello es voluntad de Dios, especialmente el ejercicio de la caridad, la personalización de la fe (máximo en este año), viviendo con mayor intensidad la virtud de la esperanza cristiana.
La limosna ha sido siempre una expresión concreta del amor al prójimo. Siempre ha sido un ejercicio cristiano. Pero en los tiempos que corremos, de paro laboral generalizado, la urgencia es mayor. Cuando la pobreza aumenta, el compartir se hace más necesario. Y finalmente, la oración.
Alguien ha definido la oración como “la respiración del alma”. Nadie puede vivir sin respirar. Así mismo, ningún cristiano puede llevar una vida cristiana de calidad, si no reza. Tal vez, la falta de oración sea una de las mayores causas, en una buena parte de cristianos, de la indiferencia y de la falta de coherencia en su vida.
Con el Miércoles de Ceniza comenzamos prácticamente la Cuaresma. Jesús tuvo su cuaresma en el retiro del desierto. A él se retiró para tratar de ver con más claridad lo que el Padre esperaba de él. Es difícil que Dios hable entre el bullicio, cuando tenemos la mente llena de preocupaciones ajenas al plan de Dios. Por eso la Cuaresma debe ser un espacio de mayor reflexión, silencio interior y discernimiento. Por eso la conversión no depende, ni consiste, en lo que yo crea que debo hacer, sino en lo que Dios me pide. Por eso hay que “escuchar”. Y se trata, fundamentalmente, de llegar a celebrar la Pascua de este año, un poco más resucitados. Habiendo vencido un poco más a los miedos, a la desconfianza, a la falta de sensibilidad creyente. Haber vencido un poco más a la muerte, esperando la resurrección final que nos una definitivamente con Dios. Se trata de poner un poco más de paz y orden en nosotros mismos, haciendo que nuestros pensamientos, nuestros deseos, y nuestras actitudes estén más en sintonía con el evangelio, y con mayor decisión en el seguimiento de Cristo. No es un tiempo de grandes penitencias, ni grandes sacrificios, sino de grandes o pequeñas superaciones de nuestras indolentes perezas para servir mejor al Reino de Dios, en la fraternidad, la compasión, la solidaridad y la justicia.
En el camino de nuestra vida hay demasiadas piedras en el camino, que nos impiden caminar. Ir apartando esas piedras, y despejar el camino, para que el “Ven y sígueme” de Jesús, sea posible.
