Domingo de Ramos
(Los ramos del domingo)
El domingo de Ramos tiene un sabor agridulce. Por una parte, Jesús es recibido con grandes pruebas de aceptación y triunfo. Por otra parte, comienzan los últimos días próximos a la pasión y muerte.
La celebración litúrgica de este domingo también tiene ese sentido ambivalente: alegría y dolor. Agitamos los ramos de olivo y las palmas en señal de bienvenida al Señor que llega subido en un borriquillo, entrando triunfante en Jerusalén: “Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor. ¡Hosanna”. Pero apenas comenzada la Eucaristía, tras la procesión, se lee la Pasión. Y con ella, nos viene el recuerdo de la próxima muerte del Inocente.
¡Qué desconcertantes son los sentimientos del hombre, y qué volubles las masas! Con qué rapidez y sin-sentido se pasa del amor al odio, de la admiración al desprecio, del “Hosanna” al “Crucifícalo”.
Los ramos que han sido enarbolados en la procesión, son guardados para ser quemados, y con sus cenizas, se nos recordará, en el miércoles de ceniza, que somos polvo, nada, ceniza, aunque nos creamos muchas veces dueños y señores de nuestra voluntad, y poderosos del mundo.
Nos dirán mientras nos imponen la ceniza.”Conviértete y cree en el evangelio”. Sólo con la conversión, siempre necesaria, seremos capaces, nuevamente, de vivir la cuaresma que se inicia, y que desemboca en la Pascua.
Esos ramos que agitamos con alegría, son nuestro símbolo, el de cada uno. Ramos verdes, sostenidos todavía por la sabia recibida del tronco añoso, pero que se convertirán, por arte del fuego, en cenizas.
El mito del ave Fénix, es el símbolo de la supervivencia, pues muere para renacer con toda su gloria. Así también esos ramos de olivo mueren, pero resurgirán nuevamente en el próximo Domingo de Ramos. Y nosotros, que somos polvo o cenizas, resurgimos a la verdadera Vida, por medio de la conversión.
El Domingo de Ramos nos invita a acoger al Señor como “el que viene”. Pero nos irá conduciendo, a través de la pasión y muerte, a la gloria de la resurrección.
