En el patio de la parroquia, hoy he visto jugar a los niños, dirigidos por sus monitores, al juego que llaman “La cesta está revuelta”. Daba gloria verles reír y gozar con tanta espontaneidad, sin preocupaciones de ningún género, al parecer.
Y mi mente ha volado, sin esfuerzo, a otras “cestas”. La cesta de la compra, para muchos vacía, o escueta. Algunos ya no necesitan la cesta. Acuden con sus carritos o sus bolsas al centro más cercano de Caritas, para tratar de compensar lo que no pueden adquirir en el mercado o en la tienda de la esquina. En mi parroquia, concretamente, se han atendido este mes cerca de doscientas cestas, es decir, familias. Cada vez se les da un poquito más, y les llega para un poquito menos.
Pero también he pensado en otra “cesta”. La cesta de la sociedad, revuelta en sus constantes manifestaciones reivindicatorias, sus huelgas, su malestar y descontento.
Y hay razones sobradas para esa actitud de revuelta colectiva. Todos lo sabemos. El estado de bienestar va desapareciendo o ya ha desaparecido para muchos. Un bienestar, que, tal vez, hemos vivido años anteriores con excesiva alegría e irresponsabilidad. Pero sobre todo, un bienestar que desaparece para muchos, y crece y crece para unos pocos, (¡no tan pocos!).
Es lógico que mucha gente esté indignada por la situación, y que esa indignación les lleve a manifestaciones extremas, con destrucción de lo que es de todos. No es laudable, pero puede ser comprendido.
Por el contrario, hay mucha gente, mucha, que no se rebelan activamente, aunque la rebelión está asentada en su corazón. Hay personas, que son incapaces de movilizarse, gritando ¡justicia! Que sufren las consecuencias de esta situación con aparente resignación. Que esperan a que otros se lo resuelvan. Les falta espíritu, o tal vez confianza en la efectividad de cualquier movimiento de reivindicación. Son los más empobrecidos. No aquellos a los que se les ha rebajado el sueldo o suprimido la paga extra, sino los que hace mucho que no tienen sueldo ni pagas extras.
Están, por otra parte, los pobres de siempre, a los que la crisis no les ha afectado demasiado. Aquellos que viven y han vivido siempre la crisis, una crisis permanente, que nunca interesó demasiado a casi nadie.
Mientras pasan por mi mente estos pensamientos, los niños, en el patio, siguen jugando entre gritos de alborozo, inconscientes y ajenos a la crisis, aunque cuando vuelvan a sus casas, se la encuentren. Gracias a Dios, los niños siguen siendo alegres y felices, salvo aquellos que pasan hambre.
