Y así mismo, cuando un libro nos interesa y ha captado nuestra atención, estamos deseando tener un rato libre (cuanto más largo mejor) para volver a abrir sus páginas por la señal que la última vez dejamos marcada. Las horas pasan rápido leyendo un libro que nos enamora.
Pero no todos los libros producen el mismo efecto en las personas. Cuando uno se para ante una librería o en una biblioteca, no todos los ejemplares merecen nuestra atención. Todo depende de muchos aspectos; sobre todo nos fijamos en el tema que desarrolla: novela, biografía, poesía, religión, etc…Cada persona tiene unos gustos. Pero también influye la etapa de la vida que estamos pasando, o del estado de ánimo en que nos encontremos.
A veces, entablamos amistad con alguien, pero ese alguien nos decepciona, o no responde a nuestras expectativas. Y con los libros ocurre algo parecido. Comenzamos a leer un libro que nos han aconsejado, o que está de moda. Y lo comenzamos a leer con cierta curiosidad. Pero pronto nos damos cuenta de que “no me gusta”. Y lo dejamos; y pasa el tiempo, y sigue durmiendo el sueño del olvido. Otro libro ha venido a sustituirlo.
Es muy posible que en nuestra pequeña o gran biblioteca particular, haya libros que nunca hemos acabado de leer. Pero allí está. Ha formado parte de nuestra vida, aunque apenas haya influido en ella. Y allí espera, paciente, a que un día vuelva a recuperar la confianza del lector.
Hay libros de cabecera, que pueden estar en la mesilla de noche, y que vamos leyendo poco a poco, antes de acostarnos, porque no son para leerlos de un tirón, sino poco a poco.
Y también hay libros que nos gustaron mucho en un momento determinado, y que, al cabo de los años, volvemos a cogerlo, porque nos dejó un buen recuerdo, y deseamos recobrar esas mismas sensaciones.
Y, por último, hay otra serie de libros que podemos considerar “de consulta”. Estos esperan en la estantería. Esperan que tengamos necesidad de una información, para ofrecer sus páginas. Son como sabios consultores. Cumplen su cometido, aunque sólo de tarde en tarde se usen. Ocurre, por ejemplo, con los diccionarios.
Los libros son como amigos fieles, que no nos obligan a nada, pero siempre están dispuestos a satisfacer nuestros gustos o necesidades.
