Festividad del “Corpus Christi”
(El Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo)
Tenemos un día dedicado a la Eucaristía de manera especial: es el Jueves Santo; la institución de la Eucaristía en la última Cena. Pero como este día está teñido de la cercanía del Viernes Santo, día de dolor, la Iglesia ha puesto otro día, para festejar un acontecimiento tan importante: el día del Corpus Christi; es decir, festividad del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo.
San Pablo, en la 1ª Carta a los cristianos de Corinto, nos narra la institución de la Eucaristía. Jesús, después de partir el pan y repartir el vino, dice “haced esto en recuerdo mío”. Partir y compartir, palabras importantes, que dan aún más sentido a la Eucaristía.
Estamos viviendo una etapa histórica, más amarga para unos que para otros. Lo llamamos “crisis”, pero tiene otros nombres llenos de connotaciones amargas, desesperantes, dolorosas. Es la hora de partir y compartir el pan de cada día con esas personas, esas familias angustiadas por la falta de trabajo, y como consecuencia, la falta de todo, incluso lo más necesario para vivir con dignidad.
Celebrar la Eucaristía, celebrar el día del Corpus, compartir el pan y el vino eucarísticos, sin compartir el otro pan, el sustento, no pasa de ser, además de una falta de sensibilidad humana, un engaño con el que no agradamos a Dios.
El día del Corpus, es, también, el día de la Caridad. Ambas cosas van íntimamente unidas, y se complementan. No se puede celebrar la Eucaristía, ni festejarla, si no nos comprometemos, en la medida de las posibilidades reales de cada uno, en la ayuda al necesitado. Y, hoy día, hay muchos necesitados. Todos lo sabemos, unos con más experiencias amargas que otros.
Jesús dice: “Tomad y comed”. Esa debe ser, también, nuestra manera de actuar en este tiempo de crisis:”tomad y comed”.
Es una pena que haya tanta gente que no se alimenta con el pan de la Eucaristía, porque quedan privados de algo tan necesario para su vida cristiana. Les falta hambre de Dios. Pero es otra pena que muchos hermanos nuestros queden privados de lo más necesario para sus vidas.
Hoy, la custodia con el pan eucarístico, en el que resalta la presencia real de Cristo, paseará por las calles de nuestra ciudad y de tantas otras ciudades. Parece como que Cristo sale a la calle a gritarnos con fuerza, como se lo gritó a los discípulos en la última Cena:”amaos los unos a los otros, como yo os he amado”. Pero que sea un amor sin engaño, como el suyo, que supo partir su cuerpo en la cruz y compartirse en la Eucaristía. Que esa procesión no tenga ninguna connotación más o menos folklórica, sino una manifestación de fe y de compromiso. Sin compromiso, la fe se convierte en un espejismo engañoso.
