¿Para qué vino Jesús al mundo?
Siempre hemos oído, leído, escuchado, que Jesús vino al mundo “para redimirnos”. Es decir para salvarnos, ya que estábamos condenados por el pecado. Se había rodo la relación del hombre con Dios, a causa del pecado. Y murió en la cruz para redimirnos. El cielo estaba cerrado, incluso para los justos, ya que según la doctrina oficial de la Iglesia, Jesús, tras su muerte, “descendió a los infiernos”, es decir al lugar donde estaban las almas de los justos esperando la redención, y les rescató, subiendo con Él al cielo. (En ese lugar estarían los santos de todos los tiempos, los profetas, los patriarcas, San José…).
Resulta todo ese planteamiento, un tanto difícil de asumir. El verdadero planteamiento, partiendo del Evangelio, tendría mucho más sentido, diciendo que Jesús vino al mundo para enseñarnos, con su doctrina (su vida y su palabra) cómo tenemos que comportarnos como “hijos amados de Dios”. El pecado de los hombres no cerró nunca la relación con Dios (aunque se enturbie por parte del hombre, no por parte de Dios). Según la doctrina tradicional, se había roto el puente que unía a Dios y al hombre, incomunicando las dos orillas. Por eso Jesús habría venido a servir de “puente” (pontifex=pontífice=puente), y poner en relación las dos orillas.
Ni Dios rompió con el hombre, sino que siguió siempre llevándole por caminos de salvación (toda la historia de salvación del Pueblo de Israel, y de cada persona); ni el hombre rompió definitivamente con Dios, aunque le fuese infiel en algunos momentos de su vida.
Volvemos a la pregunta inicial: ¿Para qué vino al mundo, Jesús, el Hijo único del Padre? En Lucas.4,43, Jesús dice que era necesario anunciar a otras ciudades el “evangelio del Reino de Dios”, porque “para eso fue enviado”. Ese “evangelio del Reino” fue el Centro de su mensaje y la razón de su venida. Jesús fue enviado por el Padre, para ensañarnos a ir construyendo ese Reinado de Dios en este mundo (todavía imperfecto), pero que culminaría en la otra vida, ya llegado a su plenitud (el “ya sí; pero todavía, no”). Reinado de Dios, fruto del cumplimiento de la voluntad del Padre. Y Jesús con su vida y doctrina nos marca cuál es la voluntad del Padre, y cómo podemos y debemos cumplirla en esta vida. Una voluntad de Dios que se traduce, en fraternidad, justicia, paz, verdad, amor a Dios y al prójimo, fe, esperanza… Jesús es la manifestación más clara y convincente de ese Reino de Dios.
Y el cielo, que son los brazos y el corazón de Dios que acoge, seguían abiertos para todos aquellos que intentaban vivir ese Reino o Reinado de Dios en su vida.
Por tanto habría que admitir que el cielo no estuvo cerrado a los justos durante tantos siglos y milenios. Y por tanto, lo de “descendió a los infierno” habría que interpretarlo de forma distinta.
A mi entender, ese “infierno” al que Jesús descendió, habría que identificarlo con la humillación sufrida en la cruz y en su muerte ignominiosa, con la sensación de abandono de todo, incluido su Padre. Porque se hizo semejante en todo, a los hombres, menos en el pecado, como diría Pablo. Él venció la muerte con su resurrección, pero no sin antes haber sufrido el aguijón de esa misma muerte. (“Fue crucificado, muerto y sepultado”). Fue descendiendo los distintos peldaños hacia el “infierno”, a lo largo de su vida, en la incomprensión, la sospecha, el desprecio, y el abandono final.
¿Para qué fue enviado, y bajó, Jesús, al mundo? Para posibilitarnos y facilitarnos nuestra “subida” al cielo, enseñándonos a vivir el Reino de Dios. Él “descendió” para que nosotros subiésemos. “Descendió a los infiernos”, para enseñarnos y ayudarnos a “ascender al cielo”.
