¿Derecho a elegir el momento de la muerte?
Una recientes declaraciones del famoso teólogo católico, Hans Küng, ha puesto sobre la palestra el tema de la”eutanasia”. El famoso teólogo suizo, al que el papa Juan Pablo II inhabilitó para enseñar teología, por sus posturas críticas frente al Vaticano en el año de 1979, tiene pensado recurrir al suicidio asistido para poner fin a su vida, ante la progresión que sufre de la enfermedad de Parkinson. Esa es la noticia que ha saltado a los medios de comunicación, y que habrá que ir conociendo mejor. Parece ser que sus palabras, en el último volumen de sus memorias, son estas:””No quiero seguir viviendo como una sombra de mí mismo”. Küng, de 85 años, sufre Parkinson en estado avanzado y teme perder pronto y completamente la visión, ante lo cual considera la posibilidad de ponerse en manos de una clínica suiza donde practican la eutanasia.
El famoso teólogo y catedrático de la Universidad alemana de Turingia, ha dicho, que: “El ser humano tiene el derecho a morir cuando ya no tiene ninguna esperanza de seguir llevando lo que según su entender es una existencia humana”.
Küng vive completamente retirado de la vida pública desde que cumplió los 85 años, “no estoy cansado de la vida, sino harto de vivir”, y añade que no tiene intención de cumplir los 90 años.
Küng fue compañero de Josef Ratzinger, el papa Benedicto XVI, en la Facultad de Teología de Tubinga, en la que ambos fueron profesores, y los dos estuvieron como asesores en el Concilio Vaticano II y al comienzo de su carrera pertenecieron a un grupo de teólogos católicos alemanes liberales y aperturistas. Aunque, después, cada uno siguió un camino distinto en el pensamiento teológico.
Un problema difícil y muy discutido el de la eutanasia, que sigue sin resolver. ¿Es uno dueño y señor de su vida? ¿Es Dios el único que tiene dominio sobre ella? ¿Es lícito y moral prescindir de seguir viviendo, a causa del grave deterioro de la salud, que haga muy difícil la existencia?
Hoy día siguen las espadas en alto, aunque la Iglesia está en contra de la muerte asistida.
No seré yo quien juzgue, y mucho menos anatematice, a Hans Küng, si llega a tomar esa decisión. Lo que sí me produce es una gran pena y conmiseración, el que un hombre que tanto ha luchado (con acierto o desacierto, según quien lo juzgue) por aportar diversos puntos importantes de la teología y de la Iglesia en general, se sienta derrotado a sus 85 años, por causa de una enfermedad degenerativa.
Si en otro tiempo se ganó una reprimenda eclesiástica, ahora lo que necesita es comprensión, y oraciones para que su “tragedia” no le afecte sobre sus fuerzas.

Swing the arm around and draw a nice arc on the plywood (there are probably easier ways to do this involving wire or string). Once you have an arc drawn on the plywood get your cameras and space them evenly around the perimeter. Turn them on and see what it looks like. Put an object in the center of the cameras and adjust them so that they are all centered on the same object. Take a test shot on all the cameras. Make sure you are happy with the range of motion between frames and the proportions and position of the subject to the frame. This is one of the most important elements in getting a good shot in the end and it is one that is hard to adjust once you get the jig saw out, so get it right. Initially, we made a smaller matrix rig, used velcro to mount the camera and had a session of shots to test the size and spacing.
