Isaías, profeta del Adviento
¿Qué es un profeta? El que dice lo que Dios le ha inspirado. Significa “el que ha sido llamado” “el que tiene una vocación”. La identidad profética tiene las siguientes características: El encuentro con Dios, el anuncio de la Palabra de Dios, la fidelidad a la Alianza. El profeta es alguien que se siente llamado por Dios para transmitir al pueblo la Palabra divina, anunciando la salvación de Dios y denunciando la infidelidad del pueblo a la Alianza.
Isaías (que significa: “Dios salva”) fue uno de los profetas de Israel del .siglo VIII, a. C, Escribió por lo menos la primera parte del libro de la Biblia que lleva su nombre. Nació probablemente en Jerusalén 770-760 a. C. y estaba emparentado con la familia real Por sus propias declaraciones se sabe que estuvo casado con una profetisa y tuvo dos hijos.
Su obra muestra que era un gran poeta, con estilo brillante, precisión, composición armoniosa e imágenes novedosas. La segunda parte del Libro de Isaías, capítulos 44 a 55, conocida como Libro de la Consolación de Israel, es muy diferente a la primera y no nombra en ninguna parte a Isaías. Es probable que estos capítulos finales sean obra de un autor anónimo al final del Destierro, después del 560 a. C.
Isaías es uno de los personajes importantes del tiempo de Adviento (con María y Juan Bautista). ¿Por qué?
Porque algunas de las lecturas de la liturgia de este tiempo están tomadas de sus escritos. Anuncia, proféticamente, la venida del Mesías, los tiempos mesiánicos.
¿Podemos decir que siguen existiendo, hoy día, los profetas? Si el profeta es el que con su palabra su vida habla en nombre de Dios, movido por el mismo Dios, no cabe duda de que, hoy, siguen existiendo los profetas entre nosotros. No en el sentido del Antiguo Testamento, pero sí en el Nuevo Pueblo de Dios, que es su Iglesia.
En el Bautismo, a la hora de la imposición del Santo Crisma, el ministro que lo impone, dice: “Para que sea, como Cristo, sacerdote, profeta y rey”.
Todo cristiano tiene que ser un profeta, que con su vida, hable de Dios. Eso es lo que llamamos ser “testigo”. No profetiza el futuro, sino que testimonia el presente Y hasta se juegan la vida, como se la jugaban los profetas del Antiguo Testamento, como se la jugó Juan el Bautista, como se la jugó Jesús, el gran profeta. Y el que no trate de ser un profeta en su vida, no está viviendo a tope su bautismo.
