¿Rezamos por ellos, o los criticamos solamente?
En una de las últimas intervenciones del Papa, dirigiéndose a la Curia Romana, acababa con estas palabras, que quiero comentar muy brevemente, porque hablan por sí solas: ”Una vez leí que “los sacerdotes son como los aviones, son noticia sólo cuando se caen, pero hay tantos que vuelan. Muchos los critican y pocos rezan por ellos”.
Bonita comparación, si no fuera tan triste. Como dice el papa, hay un montón de aviones que vuelan bien, y llegan a su destino. De vez en cuando se cae alguno, y entonces nos damos cuenta de que existen.
Con los sacerdotes pasa algo parecido. Hay muchos, la mayoría, que son ejemplares en su vida, que trabajan bien, que sirven a los fieles, etc. Pero de vez en cuando surge la oveja negra, el escándalo o el mal ejemplo. Entonces nos acordamos de que existen, para criticarlos acerbamente.
El Papa dice: “Muchos los critican y pocos rezan por ellos”. Los sacerdotes necesitan de nuestras oraciones, de nuestro cariño, de nuestra cercanía, y de nuestra corrección fraterna, si fuere necesario.
Suele haber un día al año, en que se reza por el seminario. Y se suele rezar por los que se están preparando para ser sacerdotes. También se suele rezar por los que ya lo son. Pero fuera de ese día, ¿cuántos se acuerdan de hacerlo?
Sé que hay personas que lo hacen, y lo hacen con mucha frecuencia, si no todos los días. ¡Que Dios las bendiga!
Por favor, no nos acordemos de los aviones solamente cuando se caen. ¡Hay muchos volando y llegando a su destino!
