(Si el grano de trigo no cae en la tierra y muere, no da fruto)
La vida se nos ha dado para que la aprovechemos, para que dé buenos frutos, como los árboles buenos. No para perderla de mala manera, usándola mal. Jesús nos lo dice con unas palabras muy acertadas y fáciles de entender. Lo hemos leído en el evangelio, hoy. “Si el grano de trigo no cae en tierra y muere, no da fruto, queda infecundo; pero si muere, da mucho fruto”. Pensemos en esa hermosa espiga que nace como fruto de un solo grano de trigo.
Pues así pasa con nuestra vida. Si queremos guardarla, egoístamente, para nosotros mismos, no corriendo riesgos, no compartiéndola con aquellos que nos necesitan, viviendo de espaldas a lo que Dios nos pide, será una vida sin frutos, como un árbol seco o podrido.
Y a la hora de entregar los frutos al dueño de la vida, nos preguntará:¿Qué has hecho con tu vida? Si te la di gratis, ¿por qué no la diste gratis?¿Por qué te la guardaste para ti solo?
Pero ¿qué significa que caiga en tierra y se pudra (como el grano de trigo)?
En primer lugar, que sea una vida generosa, al servicio, también, de los demás. Una vida ausente de egoísmo. Una vida comprometida con el Reino de Dios: la justicia, el amor y la verdad.
No somos dueños de nuestra propia vida. Señal de ello es que cuando Dios quiere, se nos acaba. Ni siquiera tenemos dominio pleno sobre ella. No podemos alargarla a nuestro antojo. Si no es nuestra, no podemos gastarla a nuestro capricho, sino según para lo que Dios nos la ha dado. La vida es como un préstamo que se nos hace, pero que tenemos que devolver con sus intereses. Y los intereses son las propias obras buenas.
Hay quien malgasta la vida, y agota el préstamo sin poder devolverlo, porque piensan que con su vida puede hacer lo que quiera. Somos administradores, no dueños. Se equivocan. Y un día tendremos que dar cuenta, todos, de cómo la hemos administrado. Si lo hemos hecho bien, oiremos las palabras del evangelio al administrador justo: “Entra en el gozo de tu Señor”.
