Festividad de María, Inmaculada
Esta hermosa fiesta que celebramos, fiesta de la Virgen María, es una de las más populares en España. Uno de los recuerdos más vivos que tengo de mi niñez, es precisamente la celebración de “la Inmaculada”, en el colegio. Todo era fiesta, gozo y regocijo. Son imágenes fijas que difícilmente se borrarán de mi mente y de mi corazón.
Pero ¿qué significa esta expresión de “inmaculada concepción” o “concepción inmaculada” de María? Algo tan sencillo y, al mismo tiempo, tan extraordinario como esto: Que María, desde el primer instante que fue concebida, estuvo llena de la gracia de Dios. Así lo confirma el ángel en la Anunciación:”Salve, María, “llena de gracia”. Estar llena de gracia es estar llena, a rebosar, de Dios. Y no podía ser menos por parte de Dios. La hizo lo mejor que pudo y supo. Si cualquiera de nosotros hubiéramos podido hacer a nuestra madre como quisiéramos, la hubiéramos hecho, sin duda alguna, la mejor de todas las mujeres, de todas las criaturas. La más perfecta.
Un teólogo medieval, famoso y muy mariano, recoge el sentir del pueblo cristiano sobre el tema de la concepción inmaculada de María, y la posibilidad de que Dios la hiciese así (¿pudo Dios hacerlo? ¿supo hacerlo? ¿quiso hacerlo?). Y lo hace con estas palabras: “Si quiso y no pudo, no es Dios. Si pudo y no quiso, no es hijo. Digan, pues, que pudo y quiso”.
Preciosas e inteligentes palabras, que no tienen vuelta de hoja. La fiesta de la Inmaculada es una de las “fiestas grande”, que tiene la categoría litúrgica de solemnidad.
La Virgen María, como figura importante en este tiempo, ya tiene su domingo en el Adviento (el cuarto), especialmente dedicado a ella. Sin embargo, en esta fiesta del 8 de diciembre, no podemos menos de relacionarla con él. Estamos celebrando y preparando el gran acontecimiento de la llegada de Jesús al mundo, en la Navidad. Y este Jesús (Salvador) nos viene a través y por medio de María. Y nadie como ella ha esperado la llegada de Jesús. Un adviento de nueve meses, vividos con intensidad, con devoción y con esperanza. Por eso, esta fiesta de María debe llevarnos a alegrarnos por su gran privilegio; y agradecerle a Jesús que nos la haya asignado como Madre.
Pero, sobre todo, es una ocasión magnífica para aprender de ella, una vez más, un montón de cosas. Yo destacaría, entre otras muchas: su sencillez, a pesar de su grandeza; su fidelidad a Dios y su gran confianza para aceptar su voluntad.
Tal vez vaya por ahí esa conversión que el Adviento nos está pidiendo, y que a veces queremos complicar.
