El calor y la educación
(Breve digresión veraniega)
Camilo José Cela, escribió una novelita titulada:”Culpemos a la primavera”. Yo digo:”culpemos al calor”. ¿De qué? Aparte del malestar que produce; además de no dejarnos descansar por las noches; el hecho de estar todo el día sudado, a pesar de la ducha, que es cosa tan molesta, tiene otros inconvenientes, como es, por ejemplo, el no contribuir a la buena educación, sino todo lo contrario.
En circunstancias tan fuertes de calor, éste pasa a ser el protagonista de todo. Lo normal, cuando te encuentras con algún conocido, es saludarle, preguntar cómo está él y su familia, etc. Pero el calor es tan agobiante, y se hace tan protagonista, que no te deja ser educado. Antes bien, pasa a primer lugar. Lo primero que decimos es:¡qué calor! Y toda la breve conversación versa sobre el calor.
Esta mañana, en concreto, me he encontrado con un conocido. He intentado preguntarle por su familia, etc, pero me ha resultado poco menos que imposible. El breve momento que hemos estado juntos (los dos llevábamos prisa) no hemos hablado más que del calor (calor por el día, calor por la noche, calor., calor…).La última palabra:¡qué calor! Y nos hemos ido, cada uno a su destino, con una sensación de mayor calor.
Luego, he reflexionado, y me he dicho a mí mismo:”Pues no es tanto el calor”; y aunque lo fuera, no merecía darle tanto protagonismo, ya que se carga hasta la más elemental educación.
En el invierno es distinto. Uno tiene frío, porque lo hace. Pero no se comenta tanto. Uno se lo calla, y trata de sobreponerse poniéndose la cazadora, o tirando de guantes y bufanda. Y si te encuentras con alguien, incluso te quitas el guante para saludarle. Es otra cosa.
A pesar de todos los inconvenientes, debo confesar que me gusta más el verano.
