(El llanto de Jesús)

En el Evangelio leemos que “al acercarse Jesús a Jerusalén, y ver la ciudad, dijo llorando:¡si al menos tú comprendieras en este día lo que conduce a la paz! Pero no; está escondido a tus ojos”. (Lc.19, 41-42)

Escena trágica. Jesús llorando por lo que se le venía encima a los habitantes de Jerusalén, envuelta en guerra:”Llegará un día en que tus enemigos te rodearán de trincheras, te sitiarán, apretarán el cerco, te arrastrarán con tus hijos dentro, y no dejarán piedra sobre piedra”.

Se ha dicho hasta la saciedad, que “la historia se repite”. Pero no solo una vez sino miles de veces. Porque la historia la hacemos los hombres, y somos capaces de tropezar muchas veces en la misma piedra; y porque no tenemos un corazón misericordioso, que sepa perdonar hasta “setenta veces siete”.

Las palabras de esta parte del evangelio, también se están cumpliendo, al pie de la letra, en Siria: destrucción hasta no dejar piedra sobre piedra. Sobre todo, las piedras vivas del edificio humano de aquella población, la inmensa mayoría inocente.

Jesús lloró, a la vista de tanta tragedia. Y hoy, lloran los niños, lloran las mujeres, lloran los ancianos, y llora toda persona que se ve en medio del fuego y la destrucción; porque se han quedado sin hogar, sin hospitales, sin alimento. Lloran, también, a sus muertos, por obra de la barbarie humana.

¡Señor, cambia el corazón de piedra de los que producen tanto daño, y cámbiaselo por un corazón de carne misericordiosa. Que no se repita la tragedia fratricida de Caín y Abel, y que el llanto de Jesús por Jerusalén, no tenga que repetirse en Siria!
