Domingo XXXIV del Tiempo Ordinario
(Último domingo del ciclo C)
En este día termina el jubileo de la misericordia, anunciado por el Papa Francisco, y que hemos vivido durante todo un año. Y coincide con la fiesta del Jesucristo, Rey del universo. Con este motivo, el mismo Papa Francisco, dice: “La solemnidad de Cristo, Rey del universo, es la coronación del año litúrgico. Cristo es el centro de la historia de la humanidad, y también el centro de la historia de cada hombre. Dice que “esta fiesta de Cristo, rey del universo, es la coronación del año litúrgico”.
Es decir, hoy termina el año litúrgico, con el ciclo C; y el próximo domingo comienza el nuevo l año litúrgico, con el Adviento y el llamado ciclo A. ¿En qué sentido podemos decir que Cristo es rey? Él mismo lo afirmó. Recordemos la escena de Jesús, ante Pilatos. Éste le pregunta:”Luego, ¿tú eres rey? (Porque los judíos le habían acusado diciendo que se había hecho rey). Y Jesús responde: “Ciertamente, tú lo has dicho, yo soy rey” Pero añade, inmediatamente:”Pero mi reino no es de este mundo”. Queda claro; Jesús no es un rey al estilo de los reyes de este mundo. Jesús es rey; es decir, Señor de este mundo porque el Padre lo ha puesto todo en sus manos. En el Salmo 8, se dice: “Le pusiste a cargo de todo lo que creaste, y sometiste todas las cosas bajo su autoridad”. :Y es rey, además, y sobre todo, porque quiere reinar en nuestros corazones. Quiere ser el primero en nuestra vida, en nuestras actuaciones, en nuestros pensamientos, en nuestro amor. Un rey, que en vez llevar corona de oro, lleva corona de espinas, y no está sentado en trono real, sino clavado en un madero. Lo importante es que le dejemos libre para ser nuestro rey. ¡Cuántas veces caemos en aquello que el gran poeta Lope de Vega escribió en sus versos titulados: ¿Qué tengo yo, que mi amistad procuras?, que termina con estas palabras:”mañana te abriremos, le decía; para lo mismo responder mañana”. Como os decía al comienzo, tengamos en cuenta que el próximo domingo comienza el tiempo de Adviento, preparación al gran acontecimiento de un Dios que se hace hombre. Un tiempo privilegiado que debemos esperar y vivir con verdadero interés.
