”Santificado sea tu nombre”. ¿Alguien entiende qué significa “santificar” el nombre de Dios? Dios es el tres veces santo (como rezamos en el prefacio de la Misa).Además, los nombres ni son santos ni se santifican, Son santos los individuos, o en este caso, Dios.
Yo entiendo que “santificado sea tu nombre”, significa que Dios sea respetado y querido. Que no sea maldecido, ni despreciado. Que en su nombre no se actúe irresponsablemente; que no se jure por Dios, en faso; que no se hagan guerras en nombre de Dios (las guerras de religiones).
Pero todo ello teniendo en cuenta al mismo Dios, no solo a su nombre. Por eso la petición del “padrenuestro”, equivaldría a lo siguiente: “que seas respetado y querido por todos”, en vez de “santificado sea tu nombre”. Se puede respetar esta última formulación, pero sabiendo lo que eso quiere decir.
