VII. Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario

Hoy, el Evangelio que acabamos de escuchar, es continuación del domingo pasado, y pertenece al famoso capitulo quinto de San Mateo. Y va en la misma línea: Jesús va a corregir y perfeccionar las normas de cómo debemos comportarnos con los demás. Hasta ahora se os ha dicho, porque esta es la ley de nuestro pueblo: “ojo por ojo, y diente por diente”. Es decir, la venganza es considerada como buena y necesaria. Sin sobre pasarse. Había unos límites; por eso se decía eso de “diente por diente y ojo por ojo”. Se podía uno vengar de algún daño recibido, pero sin ir más allá de lo que te había hecho a ti. Es lo que llamaban: “la ley del talión”. Jesús desautorizará esa ley de venganza, y hablará de “perdón”. ¡Qué duro se les debería hacer aceptar este cambio! Pero hoy pasa lo mismo.

Jesús continúa su discurso nuevo: Se os ha dicho:”Amarás a tu prójimo y odiarás a tu enemigo”. Aquello sí que se les debió hacer imposible de creer. Amar a los amigo, al prójimo, pase. Pero ¿amar los enemigos? eso era ya pedir demasiado. ¿Cómo se puede amar a quien te hace mal? Más tarde, Jesús les daría el mayor ejemplo, aceptando su asesinato y pidiendo perdón al Padre, por los asesinos…”porque no saben lo que hacen”.

Pongámonos en nuestros días, y consideremos lo mucho que cuesta perdonar de verdad. Sobre todo si son nuestros enemigos los que nos han hecho daño, y siguen dispuestos a seguir siendo nuestros enemigos..

Pero creo que hace falta aclarar lo qué significa, y lo qué no, eso de amar a nuestro enemigos.

“Cuando Jesús habla del amor al enemigo, no está pidiendo que alimentemos en nosotros sentimientos de afecto, de simpatía o de cariño hacia quien nos hace mal. Amar al enemigo significa, antes que nada, no hacer el mal, no buscar ni desear hacerle daño. No hemos de extrañarnos si no sentimos amor o afecto hacia él. Es natural que nos sintamos heridos o humillados. Nos hemos de preocupar cuando seguimos alimentando odio o deseo de venganza.

Pero no se trata, solo, de no hacerle daño. Podemos dar más pasos hasta estar, incluso, dispuestos a hacerle el bien si lo encontramos necesitado, No hemos de olvidarnos de que somos más humanos cuando perdonamos que cuando nos vengamos”. (J.A.Pagola)
