(“No podemos servir a Dios y al Dinero”)
Acabamos de escuchar, que Jesús dice: “no podéis servir a dos señores”. Y esos dos señores de los que habla Jesús, son: Dios y el Dinero. Jesús no habla en contra del dinero, que, por otra parte, es necesario para vivir, según el sistema de compra-venta asumido por la sociedad. De lo que habla Jesús, es de ser esclavo del “dinero”, de tal manera que pase por encima de Dios. Cuando alguien ama tanto el dinero, que se hace esclavo de él, está despreciando a Dios a quien hay que amar sobre todas las cosas, y también sobre el dinero.
Continúa Jesús:”Por eso os digo, que no andéis preocupados pensando qué vais a comer o a beber para sustentaros, o con qué ropa os vais a vestir. No hay que malinterpretar estas palabras de Jesús. Lo que quiere decir Jesús es que hay que dar más importancia a lo que es más importante. No hay que dar la mayor importancia a lo que lo es menos. Por eso dice en otro momento: “Buscad, primero, el Reino de Dios y su justicia, y lo demás se os dará por añadidura”. Hay que comer y hay que vestir, ciertamente, pero no de tal manera que os quite la paz, y olvidéis otras cosas que son más importantes, como es trabajar por el Reino de Dios. Seguro que Dios no te abandonará. Y por eso pone esos dos ejemplos tan bonitos y tan reales, que no dejan, por otra parte, de exigir nuestra cooperación: “Fijaos en las aves del campo. Ni siembran ni siegan, y sin embargo, siempre encuentran el alimento. Y las florecillas del campo, con qué colores tan hermoso nacen, a pesar de que ni hilan ni tejen. La conclusión es Su Dios se ocupa y preocupa por las aves y las flores, ¿cómo no le iban a importar los hombres, sus hijos?
Entonces ¿por qué hay tanto dolor y tanta pobreza en el mundo? Pues porque Dios ha tenido la delicadeza y la confianza, escogiendo a los mismos hombres para que resuelvan os problemas que surgen. Y se podrían resolver, si no fuéramos tan egoístas, tan poco sensibles a las necesidades del prójimo y tan faltos de amor. La culpa no es de Dios, sino del mismo hombre. Hubo un famoso filósofo, Hobbes, que dijo: “el hombre es un lobo para el hombre”. Y es verdad. Por eso existen la mayoría de los problemas que acusa la humanidad. No es Dios el culpable, sino el instrumento que quiere usar, que somos los hombres, y le fallamos.
