La pasión según Barbeito
Éste es el título con el que aparecía el Domingo de Ramos nuestra entrevista con Antonio García Barbeito pregonero de la Semana Santa de Sevilla. El día que estuvimos con él para la grabación aún no se habían manifestado las polémicas de varios días después respecto del pregón y del pregonero. Solamente las consabidas de todos los años sobre si parecía o no parecía la persona más indicada. Ya nos explicó que a él le costó aceptar el nombramiento. No se creía un hombre de suficiente Iglesia como para andar en esos menesteres. Además, era de pueblo, de Aznalcázar, y se le podían escapar esas cosas que Sevilla tiene como muy suyas.
Después hemos hecho otras averiguaciones, y en Sevilla sabemos que él se ha hecho eco de las cosas de la Iglesia en repetidas ocasiones. Y el Consejo de Hermandades Cofradías eso también, y especialmente, lo ha tenido en cuenta a la hora de su nombramiento.
La entrevista se realizó antes del pregón. Tuvimos embargadas sus respuestas. Después, no hicimos sino combinar con imágenes el texto. También las del pregón.
Nos recibió en su casa de Aznalcázar. Insistía en haber hecho un pregón muy sincero, personal, no al modo habitual. Y así fue.
Insistía en no ir buscando el aplauso con los tonos y los versos. Y así fue. No se le interrumpió ni una sola vez. Asombroso.
Insistía en no poner por delante las voces y verso de otros. Él tiene los suyos. De gran belleza. Se tiene por místico y poeta. Y así fue. Muy ponderado por ello.
Insistía en no citar paso alguno al modo habitual. Y así fue.
Después del pregón hemos leído las críticas. Hemos tomado nota de las encuestas de los medios. Los calificativos giran en torno a lo íntimo y vivencial de su peculiar semana santa. Ha estado fuera del alcance fácil por su literatura y especial expresión de sus vivencias espirituales.
Ha sido, sencillamente, honestamente, Antonio García Barbeito, escritor y poeta que todos los días se asoma a la radio y otros medios desde su balcón-terraza de Aznalcázar, allí donde, inevitablemente, se tiene otra panorámica de las cosas, que puede ayudar a complementar la habitual visión que solemos compartir, incluso de la Semana Santa en Sevilla.
