El placer, con frecuencia, causa desasosiego por miedo a perder ese momento de exaltación, que se descubre como caduco y fulgurante. La felicidad, no deja resaca, se disfruta discretamente, sin grandes emociones o sobresaltos. Suele seguir una línea constante y rectilínea. El placer y el gozo sí dejan resaca cuando se terminan; suelen tener un punto álgido, que después se desmorona.
La felicidad es compatible con el sufrimiento; no así el placer. Para que se dé la felicidad, hacen falta muchos más requisito que para el simple placer o gozo. La felicidad compensa más, a la larga, que el placer, que subsiste con una gran dosis de miedo a perderlo por saber que es fugaz y pasajero.
Hay mucha gente que tiene momentos de gozo por el mero hecho de satisfacer un deseo. Por eso, gozar de vez en cuando es muy posible. Ser feliz, exige más condimentos, y no es tan fácil. Pero vale la pena intentarlo.
