¿Quién hizo el milagro en las bodas de Caná?
Con bastante frecuencia, en los Evangelios, Jesús atribuye los signos milagrosos a la fe de la persona que lo recibe: “tu fe te ha curado”; “ni en Israel he encontrado una fe tan grande; que se haga lo que pides”; “no pudo hacer ningún milagro (en Cafarnaún) porque no había encontrado fe”.
En estas frases de Jesús y otras esparcidas por el texto evangélico, aparece el poder de la fe, que es, por otra parte, una condición para que Él haga el milagro.
Vayamos al relato de la “Boda de Caná”, en esa pequeña villa de Galilea. Conocemos el acontecimiento. Entre los invitados estaban Jesús y María, su Madre, vecinos del cercano pueblecito de Nazaret.
Faltó el vino; poca previsión por parte de los novios, o, sencillamente, que la situación económica no daba para más.
María, que vela por la felicidad de aquellos jóvenes recién casados, se percata de la situación y se imagina el sonrojo de los anfitriones ante el descaro de muchos de los invitados pidiendo groseramente más vino. La solución es acercarse a Jesús, y que él lo resuelva.
No ruega, no insiste, no suplica; solamente expone: “no tienen vino”.
“A buen entendedor, pocas palabras”, dice el refrán castellano. Y Jesús y María se entienden muy bien mutuamente.
Pero la respuesta de Jesús hubiera podido desconcertar a cualquier otro, menos a María. ELLA TIENE FE. Conoce las entrañas de su Hijo. La compasión es una virtud que ha mamado, y que ha estado presente en aquella familia. Además sabe que Dios es “el compasivo”. Y no se descorazona, ni duda, ni se siente defraudada. Al contrario. Su fe la lleva a decirles a los sirvientes: “Haced lo que Él os diga”. Y el agua se convierte en vino, y vuelve la felicidad al rostro de los recién casados.
Éste fue el gran milagro de la Fe de María. Si esta fe en Jesús hubiera sido más débil, en aquella boda se habría acabado el vino. No hubiera habido milagro, porque la respuesta de Jesús había sido: “mujer, todavía no ha llegado mi hora”. Ya dijo Jesús en otra ocasión, que “si tuviéramos fe como un granito de mostaza, diríamos a las montañas que se cambiasen de lugar, y lo harían”. De ahí el dicho: ”La fe mueve montañas”.
