¿Por qué siempre se ha leído…?
Me piden que hable de libros, nuevos o clásicos, que puedan tener interés para nosotros. Esta “tarea” me parece demasiado subjetiva, porque hay más libros que colores y gustos más que libros, pero me he acordado de una frase que escuché hace poco en clase que me ha ayudado a encontrar un hilo para este pequeño artículo: “La literatura debe resonar en el alma, en la subjetividad, como un arpa”; esto me hace pensar que sean cuales sean nuestras preferencias literarias es claro que han llegado a serlo porque algo de lo que hemos leído ha quedado resonando en nuestra alma, no sé si como un arpa, pero cierta melodía ha debido de dejar.
Cuando un libro resuena en las almas de personas de distintas épocas y lugares manteniéndose actual solemos considerarla una obra de arte, es lo que ha ocurrido con El Quijote. En él nos encontramos con un personaje al que acompañamos en su camino, somos como Sancho pero desde fuera: vemos las locuras sin sentido -para nosotros, porque él dice muy claro: “Yo sé quién soy”-, intentamos aconsejar, guiar, devolverle a su antigua vida…, pero conforme avanza el tiempo (y las páginas) nos va metiendo en su mundo, hasta el punto en que su fantasía se ha vuelto también la nuestra.
El loco de Don Quijote ha llegado desde un lugar de la Mancha hasta sitios que no es que no me acuerde sino que no sé, probablemente porque en todos ellos ha tenido la oportunidad de hacernos entretener el tiempo a la par que irnos mostrando algo de nosotros mismos.
