¿En qué Dios creo? ¿A qué Dios rezo?
Echando mano a mi archivo personal, he encontrado un articulito de un compañero y buen amigo, datado en 1995. Me parece de gran actualidad, enjundioso, acertado y bien resumido. Y aunque no tengo intención de apropiármelo, sí que deseo hacer partícipes a los lectores de este Blog, porque me parece de rabiosa actualidad, y creo que lo seguirá siendo hasta que llegue el Reino de Dios, o, al menos, la resurrección de los muertos. Habla de las distintas imágenes de Dios, que están en la mentalidad y en la conciencia de muchos creyentes. Dice así:
“Nuestra imagen de Dios, condicionada por la formación religiosa recibida en nuestra infancia, condiciona, a su vez, nuestra relación con Él.
Voy a referirme a tres imágenes de Dios distintas pero no excluyentes, para que cada uno vea cuál de ellas está presente en su vida.
Una puede ser la de un Dios juez severo, atento siempre a nuestros pecados. El Dios de nuestro viejo catecismo “Astete”( que decía: “premiador de buenos y castigador de malos”). Un Dios asociado en nuestra infancia a “las penas eternas del infierno”.
La oración a este Dios nace ordinariamente del temor, del complejo de culpa, del miedo al castigo.
Otra imagen es la de un Dios mago, capaz de saciar las necesidades e insatisfacciones de la vida: que multiplique los panes, que nos envíe un ángel para evitar un accidente, que haga llover cuando hay sequía…
La oración suele ser de “petición interesada”, más por uno mismo que por los demás. Y se puede caer en la tentación de querer manipularle teniéndole contento para que esté de nuestra parte.
Una tercera imagen sería la de un Dios Padre (Madre), en su actuar para con nosotros. La relación con Él se fundamenta en la experiencia personal de sentirse como un hijo, en una radical confianza porque no te dará una piedra cuando le pidas un pan. Un Dios que quiere que crezcas, que seas tú mismo, que pongas en juego tu propia libertad. Un Dios que ha puesto en tus manos tu destino, y el del mundo. Que quiere que transformes tú mismo el desierto, para sembrar pan. La oración será de acción de gracias, desde la experiencia recibida como un regalo. Y también de petición para cumplir la tarea que como adultos nos ha confiado”.
Esta sencilla reflexión Nos puede ayudar a dar sentido a nuestra fe, a corregir la posible idea sobre Dios que aún está agazapada en nuestra conciencia, y a vivir con mayor gozo y confianza en el Padre.
