Jueves santo: la Cena Pascual
“El Jueves que reluce más que el sol”, como dice el adagio popular. Al fin llegó la hora de la despedida, y el marco elegido era la celebración de los grandes relatos de la historia de la salvación del pueblo hebreo, esclavo en Egipto.
En esa Cena, Jesús nos va a dejar los mejores mensajes:
- Amaos unos a otros como yo os he amado (mandamiento nuevo)
- Tomad y comed esto es mi cuerpo (Eucaristía)
- Haced esto en recuerdo mío. (sacerdocio ministerial)
La entrega total de su vida será al día siguiente, viernes santo. Pero la donación plena ya se ha consumado en la Eucaristía:”Tomad, comed, bebed, mi cuerpo y mi sangre”. Ya no puede dar más. La donación total ya está hecha; el viernes será la constatación de lo ya entregado.
En esa cena, también Jesús hará el último intento para recuperar a Judas: “el que moja su pan en mi plato, ese es”. Y dirigiéndose a él, le dice:”Lo que has de hacer, hazlo pronto”. Pero Judas es ya un mar de confusión, de desencanto de aquel líder supuestamente el libertador de su pueblo, que renuncia a reinar. Y el traidor abandona el cenáculo:”Era ya de noche”. La noche se había echado sobre todo Jerusalén, pero sobre todo, eran las sombras de la noche en el corazón de Judas.
¿Quién estaría esa noche cenando con Jesús, celebrando la fiesta familiar de la Pascua judía? Sin duda los apóstoles; pero muy probablemente estaría, también, María, su Madre, viuda por la muerte de José, sola para celebrar la pascua. Y con ella algunas de las mujeres que seguían a Jesús (¿podía acaso faltar María la de Magdala?). Otros discípulos más cercanos completarían el cuadro de celebrantes. Si era la despedida, tendrían que estar lo más íntimos, aquellos que iban a sentir y sufrir más la marcha de Jesús.
Jesús, como una especie de reproche, lleno de comprensión, le dice a Pedro: “antes de que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces”. Y a los demás les recuerda: “Esta noche todos vosotros os apartaréis por causa de mí, pues escrito está: Heriré al pastor y se dispersarán las ovejas”.
Sólo un resto pequeño le seguirá aquella larga noche, hasta el Calvario: María, su madre; Juan, el discípulo amado; y algunas de las mujeres más fieles y valientes.
Dice el Evangelio, que ”acabado el canto de los Salmos, Jesús y sus acompañantes salieron para el Huerto de los Olivos, atravesando el torrente Cedrón”. Allí comenzaría la Pasión: “Padre, pase de mí este cáliz, pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya”.
Con el Jueves Santo, que “reluce más que el sol”, comienza en nuestra celebración de triduo pascual.
