Querido hermano Andrés: Las letras de esta carta me salen del corazón, de la parte mejor de mi corazón. Y también nacen de la indignación por tu “apercibimiento” desde el poder y no desde la autoridad. El poder se conquista, mientras que la autoridad se gana.
He leído parte de tus ingentes escritos, y puedo asegurarte que me siento en perfecta sintonía con ellos, y en comunión contigo. Por eso tu actual posición me duele más, porque la comparto.
Ya sé que habrás recibido muchas comunicaciones de apoyo y comprensión en estos días, e, incluso, habrá habido más gente que te haya leído. Pero aunque me imagino que esta humilde carta no llegará a tu conocimiento, me siento en la necesidad de hacerlo, expresando mi solidaridad.
Desgraciadamente son ya muchos los casos, como el tuyo, que se van dando en estos últimos tiempos. Y eso dice muy poco a favor de una libertad de expresión y de investigación dentro de la Iglesia. Si algún paraíso de libertad debiera darse con más fuerza y verdad, sería en la Iglesia. Esa “libertad de los hijos de Dios” de que habla San Pablo, y de la que también habló el último Concilio. ¡Qué desperdicio de energías en la búsqueda de brujas, donde no existen!
Hermano Andrés, sigue escribiendo y hablando; sigue abriéndonos la mente y calentándonos el corazón. No se puede apagar la voz de los profetas. Como se dice en la obra del Quijote: “ladran, luego cabalgamos”. Dice la Escritura que: “no se puede poner la luz bajo el celemín”, y algunos parecen empeñados en apagar esa luz.
Supongo que estarás pasando momentos nada fáciles, pero sigue luchando por tu libertad de pensamiento, que nadie te podrá arrebatar; y ojalá puedas recobrar, también, la libertad de expresión. Ojalá que los que coartan esa libertad, puedan un día recapacitar, y evitar males a la Iglesia, a la cultura y a la sociedad.
Cuando alguien se atreve a “no ser la voz de su amo”, corre el riesgo de que otros “maten al mensajero”. ¡Eso conlleva la miseria humana!
