Domingo XXXIV del T.O.
(Hoy estarás conmigo en el paraíso)
Estamos celebrando el último domingo del tiempo ordinario. Con el próximo domingo comenzamos el tiempo de Adviento, y con él comenzamos un nuevo año litúrgico (año de la Iglesia). Así como la tierra tarda 365 días en dar una vuelta alrededor del sol (un año), así también, llamamos año litúrgico o año de la iglesia, al los 365 días que emplea la Iglesia en celebrar los grandes misterios de nuestra de cristiana: las fiestas de Jesús, de la Virgen y de los santos. Con la diferencia de que el año civil comienza el uno de enero, y el de la iglesia comienza con el primer domingo de adviento (cuatro semanas antes de la Navidad).
Y en este último domingo celebramos a Jesús como Rey del universo, Cristo Rey. Jesús es Rey, pero no al modo de los reyes de la tierra, que pueden ser justos o injustos, pueden gozar del afecto de sus súbditos, pueden gozar de mayor o menor aceptación, porque son humanos, y están sometidos a todas las posibles imperfecciones.
Jesús es rey de pleno derecho, porque, como dice el Salmo 8:”Dios lo sometió todo bajo sus pies”.
Como dice la lectura del evangelio de hoy, los judíos le increpaban a Jesús, en la crus, diciendo:”Sálvate a ti mismo, ¿no dices que eres el Rey de los judíos? Y en la parte superior de la cruz colocaron un letrero donde se leía: “Jesús, el nazareno, el rey de los judíos”. El mismo Pilatos le había preguntado en el famoso interrogatorio, antes de condenarlo: ¿luego, ¿tú eres rey? Y Jesús dirá que sí, pero que su reino no es de este mundo. El ladrón que estando crucificado junto a Jesús, le dice: “Acuérdate de mí cuando estés en tu reino”. Y el mismo Jesús dice que ha venido al mundo para predicar el Reino de Dios: reino de paz y justicia, reino de la verdad y la vida, reino de santidad y de gracia; el reino de la justicia, el amor y la paz (como rezamos en el prefacio de la Eucaristía, al que respondemos con el Santo, santo…).
Pero Jesús quiere reinar en nuestras almas, en nosotros. ¿Cómo puede reinar en nosotros? Sencillamente dejando que él sea el motor de nuestra vida: de nuestros pensamientos, de nuestros sentimientos, de nuestras acciones. Es decir, actuando a su modo. Y para ello, basta con contemplar el evangelio, y tratar de actuar de forma parecida.
¡Qué distinto sería el mundo en que vivimos, si dejásemos que sea Cristo quien reine en cada uno! Desaparecerían las grandes desigualdades. Seriamos un gran apoyo los unos para los otros. Aumentaría la felicidad, que tanto deseamos y buscamos. Y el mundo sería un remanso de paz. Cambiarían las instituciones y las leyes injustas. La ley que regularía todas las demás leyes, sería la del amor.
Todo esto parece una utopía, algo inalcanzable. Pero es posible. Pongamos cadauno de nuestra parte, y vayamos haciendo ese mundo mejor, después de haber convertido lo selvático, en humano, y lo humano en divino, según la voluntad de Dios.
