¿Cuántos mandamientos?
Leemos un pasaje del Evangelio, en el que un escriba, pregunta a Jesús:”¿Cuál es el mandamiento principal de la Ley?”. Jesús le responde:”El primero es, amarás al Señor tu Dios, con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma y con todo tu ser. El segundo es semejante al primero:Amarás a tu prójimo como a tí mismo”.
¿Por qué Jesús parece responder a lo que no le han preguntado? Nadie le ha preguntado cuál es el segundo mandamiento. Pero él lo dice.
La razón del comportamiento de Jesús es sencilla y, a la vez, muy lógica. Jesús responde, ciertamente, a lo que le han preguntado, porque resulta que el amor a Dios y el amor al prójimo, no son sino dos partes de un solo y único mandamiento del amor.
La segunda parte está basada en las palabras de Jesús en la Última Cena: “Este es mi mandamiento: que os améis, unos a otros, como yo os he amado”. Jesús da a entender, que solo hay un mandamiento, o al menos que es el principal, cumpliendo el cual, todos los demás pueden sobrar.
San Agustín, dirá: “Ama, y haz lo que quieras”. San Juan, el apóstol y evangelista dice: “Dios es amor”. Por tanto, los hijos de Dios, deberíamos asemejarnos al Padre, deberíamos ser amor: recíproco con Dios y recíproco entre nosotros.
Lo cierto es que si amásemos de verdad, cualquier otro mandamiento sobraría.
La Iglesia, heredera, en gran parte, del judaismo, ha acumulado un gran número de mandamientos. En el Antiguo Testamente, encontramos mandamientos y normas en un elevadísimo número. Los judíos del tiempo de Jesús, tenían más de 600 mandamientos. La Iglesia de nuestro días, también tiene un número elevado de mandamientos; basta, para confirmarlo, con ojear el Derecho Canónico, amen de otras costumbres y normas.
Yo creo que hay tantos mandamientos, porque no se cumple el único y verdadero de Jesús: amarse.
