Hoy es un día triste y frío. Me he encontrado, por casualidad, con XX, y apenas hemos cambiado unas pocas palabras, me he dado cuenta de que necesitaba hablar, necesitaba desahogarse, necesitaba volcar en alguien su situación, que le estaba destrozando el alma, igual que le había destrozado la vida.

No obstante, elegimos la mesa más alejada para poder seguir hablando. Yo sabía que le quedaba, todavía, mucho que contar. Y así fue. Después de un silencio relativamente largo (al menos a mí así me pareció) rompió a hablar nuevamente. Esta vez hablaba muy despacio, como si le costase más lo que iba a comunicar. La tertulia se alargó bastante. Yo me di cuenta de que el empleado del bar, desde la barra, nos miraba de hito en hito, aunque no podía oír nada de lo que hablábamos. Mejor dicho, de lo que hablaba mi interlocutor, ya que yo, a penas tuve la oportunidad de decir alguna frase.
Había pasado más de una hora, y yo tenía que volver a casa. Cuando lo juzgué oportuno, y me pareció que había terminado su monólogo, pagué el café y salimos a la puerta de aquel bar de las confidencias. Y allí nos despedimos.
Yo me iba con la sensación de no haber aportado nada a sus preocupaciones y problemas. Y así se lo manifesté. Pero él había quedado, no digo feliz, pero sí tranquilo, como alguien a quien le quitan un peso que no puede sostener. Por otra parte, ¿qué podría hacer yo en aquel caso, realmente complicado, si no era escuchar dándole la oportunidad de desahogarse. Me di cuenta de que se marchaba agradecido por haberle dedicado mi tiempo, y haberle escuchado con sincero interés. El día empezaba a abrir, y el sol aparecía, tímidamente, entre las nubes.
Ya en casa, y con tranquilidad, repasé la escena y mi comportamiento; y llegué a la conclusión de que muchas personas al contarte sus vicisitudes y problemas, no esperan que tú se las resuelvas. Solo esperan que les escuches con interés, dándoles la oportunidad de abrir la espita de su corazón, dado que no es fácil que la gente dedique tiempo a escuchar, cuando lo que te van a contar tiene muchos visos de ser problemas.
