Festividad de la Inmaculada
(Estás llena de la Gracia de Dios)
Vamos caminando por este camino del Adviento, hasta llegar a celebrar el Nacimiento de Dios, que se hace hombre, carne de nuestra carne. Y, a mitad del camino, nos encontramos con la figura de María, de la que nacerá Jesús. Es una gran fiesta, como todas las fiestas de nuestra Madre, la Virgen. El evangelio nos ha narrado el anuncio de Dios a María, por medio de un ángel.
La respuesta de María es muy espontanea, muy humilde y muy sencilla. Sólo dice: “Hágase”. Acepta la voluntad de Dios. Si él se lo pide, ¿cómo va a negarse? Tal vez no lo comprenda del todo (la cosa era demasiado grande); pero la acepta, fiándose del Dios que no falla nunca.
Nosotros nos alegramos en esta fiesta, y agradecemos, también, a Dios, esta delicadeza, en elegir una persona de nuestra carne y sangre, para algo tan extraordinario.
Podríamos destacar muchas cosas en la Virgen María, pero hoy nos fijaremos solamente en tres, que destacan en este adviento, que estamos tratando de vivir. En primer lugar, la humildad con que recibió ese inmenso privilegio de ser la Madre del Mesías, esperado desde tantos siglos antes. En segundo lugar, yo destacaría la confianza en Dios, que la hace fiarse de que Dios no la abandonará en la difícil tarea encomendada. Y finalmente, quiero fijarme en su sencillez durante toda su vida, a pesar de su gran dignidad. Lo vemos, por ejemplo, en su visita a Isabel, que estaba ya cercana a dar a luz a quien sería, después, Juan Bautista. Va a ponerse a disposición de Isabel, para ayudarla, a pesar de llevar ya ella, en su seno, al Hijo de Dios.
Celebremos con alegría y agradecimiento esta gran fiesta de María, y pidámosla que nos ayude a poner en práctica esas virtudes tan importantes, que ella vivió en la espera de la venida de su Hijo-Dios.
