¿Qué celebran?
Llega Navidad, y una gran parte del mundo cambia el “chip”. Cambia el aspecto de la ciudad: sus comercios con nuevas mercancías propias del tiempo, y solo para ese tiempo. Parece que cambia el carácter de las personas, aunque sigamos siendo los mismos, ( felicitaciones…) Se cambia la gastronomía (hay productos propios de esos días, según las regiones) y cambian los precios (generalmente suben, hasta que llegan las rebajas una vez terminadas las fiestas). Luego, vuelve a ser todo igual, hasta que pasen 365 días.
Pero qué es lo que promueve tanta celebración. Muchos sabemos cuál es el principal motivo de tanta fiesta: La Navidad, es decir la venida de Dios en nuestra propia carne. Los creyentes tenemos ese motivo como primera referencia.
Pero ¿y los no creyentes, qué celebran? ¿O, simplemente, se suman al festejo sin tener un motivo de celebración? ¿Es una celebración sin contenido de referencia? ¿Qué celebran, si no tienen nada que celebrar?
Eso quiere decir que la Navidad, y todo su entorno, se han convertido en una gran fiesta, ajena al motivo que la causó. Es una pena y un sin-sentido celebrar algo que no tiene referencia a nada.
También es una equivocación, celebrar algo, dándole un sentido distinto del que tiene. Si a la Navidad se le quita su sentido religioso, ¿con qué nos quedamos? ¿Turrones, regalos, turismo, vacaciones…? Llamémoslo, por ejemplo:”Vacaciones de invierno”, pero no Navidad.
Por eso los creyentes tenemos que darle sentido a la fiesta, sin caer en la trampa de asemejarse a los no creyentes. Que el sentido religioso sea patente en la sociedad. Es compatible la fiesta, el descanso, y otras cosas, con el sentido religioso, que ha de ser lo principal.

Y sí, nos la jugamos por entero al dar un sentido a estas ‘fiestas’.
Diría que lo que en esencia celebramos es la venida de sentido a este mundo:
-Revelado a los sencillos y oculto a los sabios (Mt 11,25-30)
-Semejante a un tesoro escondido en un campo, el cual un hombre halla, y lo esconde de nuevo; y gozoso por ello va y vende todo lo que tiene, y compra aquel campo. (Mt 13,44)
-Y al que puede confirmaros según mi evangelio y la predicación de Jesucristo, según la revelación del misterio que ha sido mantenido en secreto durante siglos sin fin, pero que ahora ha sido manifestado… (Rom 16, 25-26)
-Jesús se volvió, y viendo que le seguían, les dijo: ¿Qué buscáis? Y ellos le dijeron: Rabí (que traducido quiere decir, Maestro), ¿dónde te hospedas? Él les dijo: Venid y veréis. Entonces fueron y vieron dónde se hospedaba; y se quedaron con Él aquel día (Jn 1, 38-39)

“Aquel día” es el día que intuimos el sentido de por qué hemos venido con Cristo al mundo. Ese día es Navidad.
