 pro_photo1231954131.jpgHace un mes la Congregación para la Doctrina de la Fe publicaba una ‘Instrucción sobre algunas cuestiones de bioética’. En este documento vaticano se afrontan algunos problemas relativos a la procreación – técnicas de ayuda a la fertilidad, fecundación “in vitro”, eliminación voluntaria de embriones…-, así como algunas propuestas terapéuticas que comportan la manipulación del embrión o del patrimonio genético humano – terapia génica, clonación humana, uso terapéutico de las células troncales… La Instrucción va dirigida “a los fieles cristianos y a todos los que buscan la verdad”. Como suele ocurrir en casos semejantes, el documento ha encontrado eco en varias columnas de la prensa escrita y en diversas tertulias radiofónicas. Como también suele suceder, me he quedado sin leer o escuchar varias cosas que habrían dado categoría a nuestros creadores de opinión. A continuación pongo algunas. “Reconozco que todavía no he leído el documento y, por lo tanto, no puedo decir nada de él, por ahora.” “Estoy en desacuerdo con su contenido y, a continuación, voy a exponer las razones que me llevan a ese desacuerdo.” “Lo he leído deprisa y por encima, así que me comprometo a leerlo con calma para formarme una opinión personal.” . “Como de estos asuntos estoy un poco pez (igual que en economía), prefiero no pronunciarme.” “La lectura del documento me ha llevado a distinguir en él algunas afirmaciones que comparto y otras en que discrepo; me voy a explicar.” “En cualquier caso, no es de tomar a la ligera una palabra bien reflexionada sobre unos asuntos tan importantes.” “De esto no sé mucho. Procuraré aprender más, para poder opinar con fundamento.” Pues, por mi mala suerte, ni leí ni escuché nada de esto. ¿Será a la próxima?
