¿Cristianos o eclesiales?
Antes de expresar lo que quiero decir con este título, necesito aclarar el término “eclesiales”, no tanto en sí mismo cuanto en el sentido que yo lo voy a usar en estas breves líneas. Lo de “cristianos” no necesita explicación; son todos aquellos que tratan de seguir a Cristo, sus enseñanzas, su estilo de vida…
“Eclesial” sería algo o alguien perteneciente de alguna manera a la iglesia. Y lo prefiero al término “eclesiástico”, porque éste se suele aplicar más bien a los que han recibido el sacramento del Orden, en cualquiera de sus grados.
Y aclarado el término, paso a expresar mi pensamiento, que es el siguiente. Entre el amplio número de los bautizados, yo distinguiría dos grupos: los que considero como “simplemente cristianos” y los considerados como “simplemente eclesiales”. Podría asumir un tercer grupo que sería el formado por los que son, al mismo tiempo,”cristianos y eclesiales”. Y trato de explicarme.Hay personas que normalmente no cumplen o ponen en práctica el conjunto o la mayoría de los mandatos y normas de la Iglesia.
Y eso debido a razones muy diversas: o bien porque por causa de su formación o más bien deformación no lo dan importancia, o porque su conciencia, bien o mal formada, lo rechaza. O sencillamente por ignorancia o por contorno ambiental, no lo consideran necesario o importante en su vida. Pero se sienten y dicen cristianos.
Y además, lo son en un sentido más restringido pero auténtico, ya que viven y practican los valores fundamentales del Evangelio: algún tipo de experiencia de Dios, veracidad y honestidad de vida, solidaridad con los más pobres, honradez… y sobre todo amor al prójimo, sentido de la fraternidad universal, (mandamiento nuevo de Jesús). A este grupo de personas yo los llamaría “simplemente cristianos” (y lo de “simplemente” no tiene sentido peyorativo, sino exclusivo, es decir, no se consideran dentro de la Iglesia institución)Otras personas se colocan en la línea opuesta. Cumplen muy bien con todas las normas de la Iglesia, celebran los sacramentos, hacen sus ratos de oración personal o comunitaria. Son los estrictos “practicantes”, pero carecen de lo fundamental en la imitación y seguimiento de Cristo. Fallan en lo esencial, que es la Caridad, el amor a los demás, la compasión (que es lo más genuino del cristianismo y del evangelio).
Por fin hay otras gentes que saben y quieren unir su ser cristiano en el sentido más puro y su ser eclesial en el mismo sentido puro del término.
Y creo que en la vida de los creyentes en Cristo se pueden dar y se dan estas tres situaciones. Y posiblemente todos conocemos a alguien que está en alguno de los tres supuestos.
