Carta a Pilar Rahola (José Ignacio González Faus)
El teólogo González Faus comenta el artículo de Pilar Rahola sobre “Dios y sus cosas”, que presentábamos ayer. Esta es la carta:
“Querida Pilar: quisiera darte las gracias por la columna del día de Pascua sobre Dios y sus cosas: por tocar el tema con seriedad y respeto, único modo digno, tanto para creyentes como no creyentes. ¿Me permites añadir algo sobre “las cosas de Dios”, para ti y todos los habitantes de la duda? Ahí van cuatro reflexiones de creyentes que, para un cristiano, son decisivas. Allá por los tiempos de Jesús se cuenta de un rabino que perdió la fe, con el comprensible escándalo social en una sociedad cerrada. Pero otro maestro comentó sobre él: “Dichoso el rabino X porque podrá practicar el bien sin esperar recompensa”. Es la lección (y casi la envidia) que desde hace años me dais muchos de vosotros. Jesús dijo también que no es el que dice “Señor, Señor” el que entrará en el reino de los cielos, sino el que hace la voluntad del Padre. Y he visto que algunos no creyentes cumplís la voluntad de Dios mejor que muchos de nosotros.
Además, un gran profeta del catolicismo del siglo pasado (Emmanuel Mounier, fundador de la revista Esprit) escribió que, en el futuro, los hombres no se distinguirán por la postura que tomen ante el tema de Dios sino por la que tomen antes los condenados de la tierra. Y, en la misma línea, esa impresionante conversa que prefirió quedarse fuera (Simone Weil), dejó escrito: “No es por la forma en que un hombre habla de Dios, sino por la forma en que habla de las cosas terrenas como se puede discernir si su alma ha permanecido en el fuego del amor de Dios”. Todos esos testimonios apuntan hacia una línea en la que deberíamos encontrarnos mucho más, y que, para un cristiano, se fundamenta en las palabras de otro gran profeta mártir de Adolf Hitler (el pastor Dietrich Bonhoeffer): el Dios que se revela en Jesús, es “lo opuesto de todo lo que el hombre religioso espera de Dios”. Cuesta tragarlo pero es así. Porque en Jesucristo, Dios no se ha revelado como “todopoderoso” sino como aquél que, en su relación con nosotros, renuncia a su poder para identificarse con la debilidad que somos y con las víctimas que producimos. Un Dios inútil como objeto de consumo pero buena noticia como horizonte y fuerza de vida. Desde aquí puedo decirte que no te preocupes si no puedes creer. Conozco muchas gentes como tú. Pero los cristianos proclamamos eso de “la comunión de los santos” que significa que todo lo de Dios es común y que, por eso, es tarea nuestra creer por (y para) los que no creen y esperar por (y para) los que no esperan, si vosotros intentáis amar incluso a los que no aman. Quizá puedas entender ahora por qué hace ya muchos años, en uno de mis primeros escritos, comenté unos versos de Atahualpa Yupanki. Son estos: “Hay cosas en este mundo / más importantes que Dios / que un hombre no escupa sangre / pa que otros vivan mejor”. Y los comenté de esta manera: para quien cree en Jesús no es el ser humano quien dicta esta estrofa; es Dios mismo quien nos hace saber que, para él, hay cosas más importantes que el que los hombres se ocupen de Dios, a saber: que no tengan unos que escupir sangre para que otros puedan vivir mejor (quizá también más piadosamente). Eso mismo, con otras palabras, podrás encontrarlo en textos de hace muchos siglos, como la primera carta del apóstol Juan, y varias páginas de san Agustín. Luego de esto hemos de ser perdonados de muchas incoherencias, bien lo sabemos. Un saludo y gracias por haber devuelto dignidad al tema”.

Cuando Bonhoeffer dice que el Dios que se revela en Jesús, es “lo opuesto de todo lo que el hombre religioso espera de Dios”, inmdiatamente lo he relacionarlo con el retiro al desierto de Jesús y la superación de las tentaciones por las que le va llevando el diablo.
Jesús renuncia al poder y busca el último lugar en su misión:
Primera tentación. “Si eres el Hijo de Dios, di a estas piedras que se conviertan en pan” (Mt 4,3).
No busca primero su beneficio mientras exista en otros esa necesidad. No utiliza el poder para remediar el hambre. Proclama la Palabra de Dios en los hombres como camino para paliar la desigualdad.
Segunda tentación. “Si tú eres Hijo de Dios, tírate abajo, porque está escrito: Dios dará órdenes a sus ángeles” (Mt 4,6)
No hay lugar para el privilegio. No utiliza el poder sólo porque lo tiene. Ni siquiera la justicia se impone ni puede exigirse a Dios, la justicia es el camino lógico y teológico de los hombres.
Tercera tentación: “Te daré todo esto, si te postras para adorarme” (Mt 4, 9)
Si Jesús se sirviera del poder para someter al mundo para conseguir su Reino de Justicia, quedaría atrapado en su posición de poder y nosotros nunca alcanzaríamos la libertad. Nunca habría encuentro y nunca seríamos Uno. Sólo el Dios que no impone engendra al Hijo que no se impone. Nosotros somos en Cristo los hijos que no se pondrán nunca por encima de los demás hijos. Ahí y sólo ahí alcanzaremos la fraternidad a la que hemos sido llamados.

A todas luces, los hombres necesitan fieramente de hombres que sientan la injusticia y disientan del poder. Cristo está en todo aquel que haga esto suyo.
Ciertamente, es absurdo tratar de ponerse por encima de nadie. Cada uno tiene su dignidad y sus dones. Todos hijos amados del único Padre. Ahí se basa la fraternidad de que hablas.
