Cuando tenemos todas esas cosas (y otras muchas) creemos que nos ha llegado la salvación. Sobre todo en este tiempo de crisis. Solemos decirlo menos descaradamente, pero es igual. Decimos: “Teniendo salud, dinero, etc… ¿qué más podemos pedir?
Tu anuncio de que “todo hombre verá la salvación de Dios”, parece que no nos ilusiona demasiado. Ya hay pocas cosas que nos ilusionan.
Yo sé que tú.al anunciarnos la “salvación” para todos, te has sentido feliz, pensando en lo felices y contentos que nos pondríamos nosotros al saberlo. Pero no sufras… somos así. A veces necesitamos cosas más cercanas y tangibles.
Sabemos que Tú vienes anunciando esa salvación desde que nos creaste; y que tu Hijo, Jesús, se hizo salvación para todos. Y hace ya dos mil años que lo sabemos, pero no acabamos de valorarlo. Danos, todavía, un poco más de tiempo, pero no dejes de recordárnoslo.
Tengo que decirte que nos encontramos bastante bien en este mundo, a pesar de las crisis y los agobios. Para ser felices necesitamos no pensar demasiado, y que las cosas vayan relativamente bien. Con eso, casi, nos contentamos y tenemos suficiente.
Después de escribir esta última frase de que “tenemos suficiente”, me he quedado en silencio un rato. Y algo me dice a mí mismo que no, que no tenemos suficiente, que es estúpido decir eso. Es estúpido decir “no necesito más”, “me basta con lo que tengo”. Casi nadie está contento con lo que tiene. Casi todos desean más. De vez en cuando nos damos cuenta de que siempre nos falta algo distinto de lo que tenemos o deseamos, que nada de lo que tenemos nos hace totalmente felices. Y seguramente es esa salvación que tú ofreces a todos.
Me doy cuenta de que nunca el amor es pleno, nunca la bondad es absoluta, nunca la belleza es total, nunca los deseos se ven colmados plenamente. Tú sí que eres Amor…Bondad… Belleza… Meta de todos deseo… Felicidad. Y todo ello, porque eres SALVACIÓN para todos. Empiezo a comprender lo que el gran San Agustín decía:”inquieto está mi corazón hasta que descanse en Ti”.
