Hay quien dice que sí a todo lo que se le propone o encarga, pero, luego, es que no. Otros, por el contrario, lo piensan antes de decir sí, pero su sí es de verdad. Incluso, pueden decir, no; y luego pensarlo mejor, y hacer que sea sí. En el caso de la parábola ¿cuál de los dos hijos es el que hace la voluntad del padre? La respuesta es clara. Las palabras pueden mentir, pero los hechos, no.
En nuestra vida ¿cuántas veces hemos prometido al Señor esto o aquello, y no lo hemos cumplido, por pereza, por dejadez, por desinterés, por falta de coherencia, por falta de esfuerzo? Sería bueno reflexionar un ratito, tratando de descubrir las incoherencias de nuestras promesas; en qué ocasiones hemos fallado; y analizar las causas. Recordemos aquello de “poner la mano en el arado, y volver la mirada hacia atrás”.
Jesús pone, frecuentemente, el ejemplo de los pecadores y las prostitutas como contraposición a la conducta de muchos, considrados más o menos justos. ¿Por qué? Porque tiene la experiencia de que esas personas, a pesar de su situación, suelen ser más coherentes, y con fecuencia pueden sentirse necesitadas de un cambio.
Esas personas han dicho no a Jesús, en algunas cosas; pero su sí, en otras, es sincero. Por eso, dice Jesús, que nos llevarán la delantera en el Reino de los cielos.
Suelen ser personas de buen corazón, caritativas, comprensivas… Mientras que otros que se consideran mejores, oirán las palabras del Evangelio, en las que se les rechaza, “porque tuve hambre y no me diste de comer, tuve sed y no me diste de ver, estuve enfermo o en la cárcel, y no me visitaste, etc”.
Ojalá que el sí de los seguidores de Cristo, sea siempre sí. Y el no, siempre, no.
